Stevie to be SNL's musical guest Oct 12
With the equally lovely Ariana Grande as host.

How exciting! I wonder if she'll announce something between now and then that she'll be promoting...

Indeed, exciting. I was thinking the same thing re: something to promote!
I'd love a moment of singing between Arianna and her, too. I'd REALLY love it if she showed up in a skit, but that may be wishing for too much. |

Probably won't be promoting anything new since it's only a few weeks away. But it's great that she'll be back on SNL. I'd imagine "Stand Back" and "Landslide" or "For What It's Worth" as the encore.

Yes, that’s what I was thinking. Its to bad she doesn’t have anything new to push unless she has one new song to feature off this new possible project. |

Stevie will probably sing a concert standard, right? (“Stand Back” and “If Anyone Falls” are always good choices.) If she does a second song, she and Ariana could do “Best of My Love” or “The Sad Cafe” in honor of J. D. Souther.

Yeah, hearing one of the new songs she had been working on would be great. But I'm not sure how confident she would be dropping new material on live TV.
She'll be in Philly on Sep 28 for a rescheduled show, so it probably worked out logistically to be on the show at that time. The more that I think about it... Peforming "The Chain" might be interesting and radical for Stevie.

I'd love for this to be a sign that we're getting new material soon, but I suppose even if she's promoting something, that something could end up being a tour, another compilation, etc.

She already told MOJO in June that she's been recording an album. She's been working with the producer Greg Kurstin.

Mirage Tour '82 comes out on Friday. Maybe she'll do "Gypsy."

I love it but I doubt Stevie knows that the Mirage Concert album is being released! But let's say she'll perform Sisters Of The Moon!

New album surely? SNL don't normally get legacy artists on with nothing new to promote?

Jagger did all classics when he was the guest in 2012 but I think it was more about getting The Mick Jagger on the show.

I'm voting Edge and Stand Back.
