It can be found on Christine's 1984 solo album, 'Christine McVie,' and is definitely worth seeking out.

Over on AOL radio, the Fleetwood Mac DJ was playing a lot of Stevie, Mac and they even played some of Christine's solo stuff last night.

I've only seen Stevie perform "If Anyone Falls" once, on the Whole Lotta Trouble tour. I've seen Stevie seven times, & this is the ONLY song that I didn't recognize from the 1st notes. (Really odd considering that I some of her other song beginnings sound alike, but this very distinctive one threw me.) I'd love to hear it again, too.

"Tango" is a great choice. I was beginning to think Lindsey was just a bitter old anti-romantic until you posted that!

I do have Christine's album (on cassette) & figured that that's where that "Smile" song came from - I was just too lazy to check before posting. I'll have to listen to it soon.

You're right, Brown Eyes has a distinct sound - where else can one hear those"sha-la-las?" Haven't heard it in person live, but I bet it would be great outside at night in a Sisters of the Moon kind of way. I think Never Forget is very underappreciated - a simple beat, & her voice just hugs it at every turn. Love that album.

Another thought: Bella Donna would seem like a love song if I didn't know it was based on Stevie's inner conflict. The first lines are like a challenge in a Ta,ing of the Shrew kind of way - You won't scare me the way you've chased off everyone else, but I'm inviting you in out of the darkness.

Ok folks,

My choice would be the following:

Christine: Over & Over (her most haunting and beautiful song with those shimmering gorgeous backing vocals by Stevie and Lindsey)

Lindsey: Save Me A Place (lovely lilting romantic little number with that line "save me a place, I´ll come running if you love me today" (Sigh!)

Stevie: Love Is (a great solo track) and Silver Springs (I´ll follow you down till the sound of my voice will haunt you).

Truly heartfelt moments of (lost) love!

Thank you Jake. I think his current life shows the romance flame is still burning! He's got a few wonderful songs in his solo work as well, but I took your post to be seeking FM songs.

A solo song I would mention is "Slow Dancing," from Lindsey's "Go Insane" album. Beautifully done!

Heart

Ooh...All the songs everyone mentioned are definitely romantic. I love Three Birds Of Rhiannon.
I think Crystal is one of the most romantic songs ever. Other Stevie authored songs that tug at the heart strings:
Love Is ("...you've got the softest lips..."*sigh*)
Angel (see my quote below)
Silver Springs ("I would be your only dream... your shining on an ocean crashing...")
Frozen Love ("and if you go forward, I'll meet you there...and if you climb up through the cold freezing air...look down below you, search out above, cry out to life for frozen love")
Wild Heart ("wild as the darkest places of your mind...that's where I needed you...")
China Doll ("I said it's been so long since I've been held. He said, I could hold you for days...")

Lindsey can definitely be a mushball too (god I love it!):
Tango, definitely. ("Listen to the wind on the water" gives me chills)
Steal Your Heart Away (see quote below)
Bleed To Love Her ("...and how she takes my breath away")
Big Love ("...oh I'll build you a kingdom...")
Second Hand News (there's something very ironically romantic about this)

...and Uh, just about EVERY song on Go Insane!

Most of Christine's songs are romantic, but some really stand out:
Warm Ways ("I can't sleep with your warm ways")
Isn't It Midnight ("do you remember...the face of a pretty girl")
Everywhere ("you know that I'm proud and I can't get the words out...I want to be with you Everywhere")
You Make Loving Fun ("This feeling follows me wherever I go")
