Default Al Gore's Climate Change Concerts Bigger Than Live Aid

I just read about Al Gore's huge concerts this summer for Climate Change.
Apparently the talent involved will make it bigger than Live Aid.
I wonder if he's trying to get Fleetwood Mac to play...

Wow.. We'll have to see tomorrow when it's announced what's in store.. But it sounds like it could be pretty cool! If anything Stevie and Lindsey should get involved if the rest of the band doesn't... They look like they'll at least be active at that time.

I hadn't heard anything about this yet, sounds really interesting. Concerts as in more shows at the same time in different cities, like with Live Aid (and 8)?

Oh, please, please. please. John, if you're out there could you mention this to the others? I know you were a big supporter of Greenpeace and I'm sure the others are in favor of the planet not melting. I say we email the Gore camp and the band members respective management asking them to get involved in the concert.

Can't wait to see who he has in store... I thought Live Aid was amazing, and it will take alot to compete.

Never a truer word spoken!
A one-off, never to be repeated, nothing like it. I actually got rather irritated when I read this thread title: "Bigger than Live Aid? Pfft. We'll see. ¬¬"
Nah, fair play to him and all the rest but the talent just isn't there these days. Case in point, Live 8.
Geldof for President!

And it will have the same effect as all these concerts have. NILL. A week later and noone will even remember most of it. Sorry, but that's what always happens. Remember "Do they know it's Christmas?" 20 years later and they are still corrupt, starving and killing each other.

Those were different times in the music biz, halcyon days unlikely to ever be seen again. Although Live 8 came pretty close.

How absolutely amazzzzzz would that be?! Floyd and Zeppelin playing a show together in 2007. hahahahaha.

Think of all the acts that will be on the road at that time anyways: Stevie, The Police, Genesis, Van Halen, The Killers, Elton John, Justin Timberlake, XTina Aguilera. Basically everyone you could imagine is touring this year, so a giant benefit concert would be coming at just the right time for a lot of big acts. I hope this all goes down!

interview with Zep bassist John Paul Jones where he made no mention of LZ at all, but he has some many musical ventures lined up I doubt he would participate in the supposed/rumored Led Zeppelin reunion (Besides, Page & Plant had a falling out from some Grammy award that LZ won, and from my knowledge that falling out has not been repaired as of this time.)
