If Silver Springs was so special to Stevie in 77, why the fuuck did she just not put it on Tusk. Its not like they didn't have anyroom for it then.
In all I like how it all came down, the song made the 97 thing very special. |

Didn't the 1991 thing lead to Stevie saying she'd never record with Mick again?
I think everyone would agree that SS completely stole the show when it came to The Dance. And I've never heard of the silver spoon/springs reference. Ooh. Interesting. |

Dude, they told the audience to be boring. I think they wanted it to be more resereved.

When Stevie did a show in LA in 1991, I think at the Roxy, Jim Ladd interviewed her before the show and they talked about Silver Springs. Ladd talked about it being kicked off Rumours and inquired if it would ever be seen on an album, to which Stevie replied 'I am rerecording it for the next album.' The audience went WILD.
With hindsight, it is a good thing she didn't rerecord it for Street Angel, it would not have been recognizable, and it would have stolen the thunder of the Dance version.

Silver Springs
By 1991 Silver Springs had become a collectors item. Stevie had mentioned it and it was played in radio interviews. It had been released as the b side of Go Your Own Way. It was later replaced by Dreams as a back to back hit 45. It was smart business wise for the song to help sell the box set. That was the first time it appeared on CD. I am glad Silver Springs had it's day in the sun. I am also glad Stevie did not rerecord it for Street Angel. I don't care for the tropical If You Were My Love as much as the upbeat Mirage version.
