I guess there are exceptions to every rule. Desert Angel is one of them.

Hey I happen to love Silver Girl. I liked it the first time that I heard it. I love the "you cannot see her soul line". There is something about the way that Stevie sings that line that sounds like the younger version of her voice. I also love Desert Angel so I guess I am in the minority here. There really arent too many Stevie songs that I can say I dont really like except for When I See You Again. That one is just terrible but I love all the rest.

Although there are no credits on the liner notes indicating this, I have a strong vibe that Sharon and Lori are singing background on 'Silver Girl'. Is this possible, or is it just layering of Stevie's vocals? I kind of like this song, I think it has a wispy sort of a relaxing type sound. It's not on my top 10 worst Stevie songs list, anyway.

I didn't see the xmas panel lux, but im guessing it was good they are always funny.

As for Silver Girl, i can honestly say I don't dislike any Stevie song, and this is actually more one of my faves as opposed to an unfave.

When I first read that Stevie had a new song called "Silver Girl," I was a little... concerned.
"Silver Springs"... "Sweet Girl"... "Silver Girl".... Eek!

Then I had an opportunity to read the lyrics before the album came out, and I really dug the song.

Then I HEARD the track, and I was back to not being wild about it.

I guess when I read the lyrics, I pictured this really perky, fun song... something like a latter-day "Enchanted" or "I Don't Want To Know."
So the whole semi-ballad thing threw me for a loop.

But I have since come to really enjoy the track, and while I'd still be inclined to agree that it's Stevie's "weakest" song on 'Say You Will,' I don't think it's bad at all. Just not quite as amazing as her other tracks.

(P.S., add me to the list of people who want to get their greedy little hands on Stevie's original demo version.)

I totally agree with you Brian.

I for one, am more eager to hear Stevie's demo of Illume...

As some people have already said, it's really difficult for me to find any Stevie songs that I really hate. This song is alright. The lyrics are a little cheesy and the production is a little iffy, but in the end, everything comes together and I can appreciate it. The chorus does have a nice ring to it, if there's anything I really like a lot about this song. Yes, the flute is still in the album version. Just listen. It has a nice harmony effect.

I don't mind Silver Girl, in fact I really like the lyrics, but i wish the music behind them had more bounce, a bit more like how Sweet girl had bounce...Otherwise it's just a song that kinda ranks in the middle for me.

Are Stevie and Sheryl still friends? For awhile they were glued at the hip. Now I haven't seen or heard anything about their friendship.

I am sure they are - but as La Nicks has said many a time - when FM calls - there is little time for anyone or anything else - plus La Crow has a BF - which tends to sep. friends a little. Finally, La Crow had her own stuff to promote last year.
