Nope, not at all. I'm with you on that.

"Brown Eyes," without question.

Honorable mentions:
"Tango in the Night"
"Over My Head"
"Bleed to Love Her"

blatantly sexy (if we don't count Peter Green's songs of course... i mean Rattlesnake Shake?) - definitely Come.

Lindsey is in general into double meaning songs where one of the meanings is blatantly sexy while he will describe the song as meaning something completely different, deeply philosophical, and supposedly "not what you think" . but i guess most of those examples are in his solo songs, other than something like Tango in the night. or Second Hand News, of course, where even he just came straight out and said that it's obvious what let me do my stuff in the tall grass means.

I guess it's in the eye of the beholder, but I'm interested to know how that song could be considered sexy? Sure, there's a crude reference to orgasm in the lyric, but I'm not convinced otherwise.

That's up there, no doubt!!

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

guessing you are talking about Come? let's look at the lyrics:

Think of me sweet darling when everything's going bad
Think of me sweet darling every time you're feeling sad
Think of me sweet darling every time you don't come
Can you feel the fever?

Think of me sweet darling every time things get rough
Think of me sweet darling when the best just isn't enough
Think of me sweet darling every time you don't come
Can you feel the fever?

'Cause nobody else is doing it
Nobody else is doing it no no
Thought that our harmony was the new harmony
Lord it was a little too strange
And the band played on

I said I was going to put God away she's been here a while
Living in the guest room I guess she goes in style
I said I was going to put God away but I just can't let her go
Can you feel the fever?

Now I lay me down to sleep in this enemy bed
Tomorrow morning I will wake up hurting from the things we've said
One thing leads to another but I guess you know about that
Can you feel the fever?

'Cause nobody else is doing it
Nobody else is doing it no no
Thought that our harmony was the new harmony
Lord it was a little too strange
And the band played on

and maybe you want to check 7:25-7:30 here noted by some reviewers as, well -

^ You and I just have different concepts of 'sexy'!

I find the song pretty repugnant.

possibly, but i'm not necessarily talking about my concepts here, just very general and blatant. as the opening post nicely said:

Yes. I know the op wanted us to avoid a debate on the meaning of "sexy" but I'm not entirely sure how we can really avoid that.

Come is certainly a sexual song. Lindsey wrote it all about sex, certainly. But "sexy" is something different, to me. And among the op's list of adjectives (seductive/alluring/luscious/exciting/racy/risqué/hot/horny/let's-get-dirrty) Come basically doesn't fall under any of them, to these ears. Except perhaps, "racy".

I would echo the chorus of those who say Brown Eyes and Sara.

Artemis's post kind of makes me want to go back in time and lose my virginity while listening to Sara. I lost it listening to my ex-partners roommates trip out on ecstasy through the walls. Not quite the same effect.

i agree with sexual, and also bolded the other adjectives you can consider it under, especially if you isolate certain lyrics. everybody seems to be focusing on one word in that song. but, "can you feel the fever"? maybe *you* can not? or you might if the same message was delivered by a different messenger?

oh talking about a different messenger - just remembered but i won't even say anything about a certain WY lyric. people have been debating whether that one was intentional or not.

I remember reading when Lindsey left in 1987 he was saying how he could now focus more on his own artistic statements when going solo- when asked what those statements would be, he said "lust, longing and loneliness." I was thinking, when was it you did not write about these things?!? He's got more songs about blatant sex than anyone else. Sexy means sensuous to me though.

I think for me a song's sexiness just has much more to do with sonic qualities than lyrical content. When I'm thinking of a "sexy" song I'm thinking of the "feel" of it on my eardrums, which doesn't have much to do with the literal meaning of the words.

Sara, for example, is mostly about a broken down relationship and its end. Is that a particularly sexy concept to me? No. Do I consider Sara a sexy song? Absolutely. I'd love to f*** to Sara. Maybe that makes no sense at all, but heyo.

Makes total sense. That's the reason Sara is so sexy, it's the feel of the music.

Agreed. I think Come is angry, defiant, and yes, sexual...but not "sexy."
