Default Sound stage version of GYOW. plus link to 10 Min Clip

If you listen carefully you will soon realise that this is the best version of GYOW by a long shot. Very convincing. Great vocals.
Heard it Millions of times still love it the most. Dont get me wrong OOTC and GoS stuff really is excellent but GYOW is magic.

Below is the link to a 105MB 10 min clip stevie nicks part of the show.

Well, we're just with a few, MF. I think it's a great version too and he sings it really passionate. The raw guitarlines on the Turner sound great too, and now we can actually HEAR them without the drowning in drums bass and other electric guitars. I like it that the acoutic guitars sound so full and the elctric lines really flow over it. An excellent version imo.

Are you insane? The Dance version is WAYYYYY better. The guitar licks are perfect, his vocals were still tight....pure madness to say this one is better.

I liked it as well. But I wish he'd nailed the second solo a little better.

The solo on The Dance version is the best, but I think it lacks energy until that final chorus.

I'm tempted to say the Out Of Cradle tour produced the best versions of Go Your Own Way, although it works less well when Stevie isn't there to have it sung at her.

There isn't really a definitive version of GYOW where as I think most people would probably choose the Mirage Tour video for The Chain, and anything pre-voice sounding like a goat for Rhiannon.

Sorry,

I just meant from any recordings lindsey did of GYOW on his own. i have 5-6 different versions lying around in my computer.

When you add in the MAC element it becomes something else altogether.
It then becomes a timeless never to be forgotten song that will be played on radios when you and I are long gone. One of the, i would say, 10 or 15 songs everyone has heard and knows and can sing along to.

BTW the guitar work in the whole "The Dance" album is totally perfect.
Just like the guitar stuff on Live in Boston.

Peace out

i bet the overdubs/production is meant here....

My rocking fave is still the Live 1980-version.

Yeah, you're a little off. The Dance was actually filmed over three nights. So they took a little bit here and there from each performance and filled in the gaps. There was very little overdub work that was added in...but they did go in and tweak the mistakes. None of the vocals or instruments were "added" in the studio.

Need proof? The show was filmed in June and released on CD/DVD in August. There is NO WAY any professional band could gobs of overdub work done, AND get the CD mixed/pressed/ready for release in that amount of time. Sorry to burst your bubble.

I thought it was filmed in May and released in September?

No, it was filmed 3 nights in June 1997. CD came out August 19 (I think) because it was the Tuesday before my 18th birthday. That means they had the album mixed and ready to go AT LEAST by mid July.

August 19th is correct. It was filmed during the May 23rd weekend, though.

P.S. - Go back and read the countless threads that mention how severely overdubbed the Dance is and correct them.

Uh...well the only solo I can think of is the Go Your Own Way solo. And who's to say that's not the exact note-for-note solo from ANOTHER night? Maybe the footage was better on one night, and the riffing was better the night before...? Who's to say? I'm not saying I'm 100% right, but you can't portray what you think about it to be factual.

Yeah, it's called guitar pedals...delay, reverb, etc. I'm a musician. I can do the same sounding note without "moving" my hand.

And Mr. Musician, I must remind you that reverb and delay don't have anything to do with vibrato.

All of that stuff can be done right from the soundboard.
