Question So should I?

Hello...

So when I was 12 - I had the BIGGEST crush on this student teacher in band.

I can still remember the exact moment when I saw him for the first time lol....he was ten years older than I and of course I was but a dorky and ackward middle school band geek.

Well - that is probably the biggest most intense crush of my life - it never went away - from 12 to well...now lol...I have seen him on and off through the years- though not for many years now - the last time saw him was at a wedding when I was in high school...

Okay - so my sister is good friends with this guy's best friend. Well my sister's friend forwarded her an e-mail which she forwarded to me...

AND the guy I used to like's name/e-mail is in the list of folks the message was sent to!

I know he's in South Carolina beause my old band director filled me in (without my asking, he just saw me at bar, walked up to me and without so much as a hello he said, "okay - so I'll give you a Mr. Lane update" lol...

Okay - so my question....(and yes I'm totally neurotic )

I have his e-mail now - I thought it'd be amusing to e-mail him....

But I don't want to be creepy or weird...I guess I'm just super paranoid about how an e=mail will be received...

That and I don't know what to say....I don't want to address the fact that my creepy ass has been pining away for him for years lol.....just a friend hello type thing - mostly I'm just interested in making a contact with him as a grown person...ya know now that I'm no longer 12

Anyway any input? thoughts? advice?

I feel like such a dork...but I've been thinking about this all night.

a short email asking how he is doing, how your doing, etc...

Just follow your heart is all I can say (I can relate to how you feel in a way, I tried to think of what to ask my sister Lesa when I first talked to her in February)

"Just go for it"

I think you should email him. What have you got to lose? Just be casual, like "hey, I happened to come across your email, wondering how you've been, yadayadayada..."

I wouldn't include a photo of the shrine you have for him in your bedroom though. That might freak him out a bit.

Oh...well here's one reason I'm so spazzy about it.....a bit of (embarrasing) history:

Being that I was in sixth grade - and sixth graders are evil vile creatures...he TOTALLY knew I had a crush on him. Why?

Because pretty much everyone and their grandma knew about my crush -and everyone got a charge of, right in front of me, walking up to him and saying, "Mr LANE! Deanna likes you..."

And as I would silently die of embarrasment. Okay - but once this asshole Gabe did that and Mr Lane said, "You leave her alone!" and I was of course - plunged deeper into my crush...

The worst however what the love letter my friends helped me write to him lol...

we had absolutely NO intention of ever giving it to him....but my friends and I were joking about ways to give it to him...then our friend Annalise joined late, said we were stupid, grabbed the note and marched up to the table he was sitting at (this was lunch time) - and gave it to him...

He began to open it and my band director grabbed it from him and read it out loud to the teacher's table...I ran out of the cafeteria dying of embarrassment...

lol....there ya go

He will remember who you are, right? That's key, that he will know who you are when he reads the email. If he does, I'm sure he'll be happy to hear from you. Why not? Sounds like a great idea to me.
That said - does anyone know if my freshman Science teacher is still married???

well I've been able to keep up with this guy being that my sister is friends with his best friend...and my old band director who will NEVER let me live the crush down....

he's never been married and has been single for a while now (my crush - not your science teacher)
