We all know Lucy was the best Mame!

And I am dead serious...I don't understand the negativity about the movie version!

I would love you even more than I already do if you whipped something up some time.

You cannot be serious. Lucille Ball was better than Angela Lansbury and Rosalind Russell? Cra-zay.

Well no. They were awesome! But I guess what I mean is that she was GOOD in her own way...and she didn't deserve all of the negative reviews.

Her bullfrog voice alone saw to it that it would be panned. She was too old, too cold, and couldn't sing. Thank the stars for Bea Arthur.

One of my favorite movie reviews ever had the following line about the Lucy version of Mame. Referring to the camera tricks to make her look younger... I paraphrase...

"It looks as if the cinematographer photographed Lucille Ball through a Navajo blanket."

For the record, I know nothing about any of these films. Y'all know I hate musicals. Sparky ain't that gay.
