Default Who wants a DELUXE version of the '75 self titled WHITE ALBUM?

Who agrees with me that it's a travesty that this album hasn't gotten the deluxe treatment yet?

I know the album was basically recorded in a couple of months, right? I'm not sure how many songs were recorded and if there would be enough outtakes or alternates to warrant a second disc. Does anyone out there know much about these sessions?

I remember reading somewhere that Lindsey had quite a few songs that weren't used. I also remember an interview with Stevie where she said that "Sorcerer" almost went on the first Fleetwood Mac record that she was involved with, but was scrapped in favor of "Rhiannon". Christine has gone on record stating that at the time she really only sat down and wrote songs when she knew they were going to be recording a new album, so I'm not sure if she would have any outtakes either.

The 2004 remastered edition, as we all know, is kind of lackluster - It merely boasts the "single versions" of everything and then one jam session. It's also quite possible, since the band wasn't at the height of their popularity at the time, that anything leftover was either tossed or lost.

What do you guys think?

I don't think there is enough material because they recorded very the album very efficiently. I've never read about extra material.

I'd be content with a nice live concert CD. It would be nice to have a crisp sounding "Hypnotized", "Oh Well", "Spare Me A Little", "Station Man" and ESPECIALLY "Why" with those amazing three part harmonies. And also a nice live Fleetwood Mac version of "Frozen Love".

And also a new 5.1 surround sound DVD of the album!!!

I agree, after Rumours it's the best album for me of the Buckingham Nicks formation.
I don't know if there is studio material available for a rarities CD, but if we're talking about videos there's a lot. They could either issue a DVD with the Largo (or Landover) or Capitol Center show or they could finally give us a DVD of the much wanted Midnight Special. There must be even the leftover material for the Rosebud documentary.
Maybe there is also some unreleased audio bootlegs material? We have very little show for the 1976 leg of the tour, and none of them is high quality, which surprise me since by that time the band had become much more famous.

I could see at least a three cd set if there isn't any outtakes or alternative tracks.
1.Remastered album
2. 5.1 Surround Sound Mix
3. Live Cd that would inlude: Hypnotized,Spare Me A Little,Get Like You Use To Be and Why and Don't Let Me Down Again.

I read on this forum recently that a 5.1 remix had been done for their 1975 self-titled album, so that would be a welcome bonus.

Seeing as the 2004 re-issue only included one outtake I'm guessing that either there isn't any existing outtakes from that album's sessions or that there was but they've since been lost.

There is one demo version of Rhiannon on YouTube (link below).

The multi-tracks obviously still exist or they wouldn't of been able to create a 5.1 surround sound mix.

Were there any decent sounding concerts from that album's tour that were professionally recorded?

I seem to remember Ken talking about the 5.1 mix some years ago and he mentioned that there was a version of "Landslide" with harmony vocals (courtesy of Stevie).
I imagine there is a paucity of unreleased material but demos/rough takes/alternate versions of the album tracks would be great to hear. I've also read that "Sorcerer" was recorded during these sessions.
With regard to live material from this era, surely they must have recorded the one or two attempts at "Silver Springs"? The bootleg recording I've heard of this is extremely poor in terms of audio quality but the actual performance is sublime.

Of course we would all love it. But as others have said, I don't think there are all the extras like later albums. As far as a live show...., that would be great. But its important to remember that Lindsey has been on the record he hated singing classic Mac songs like Station Man and Hypnotized. He said he felt like he was in a cover band singing in a nightclub

I have been thinking the same thing recently. I would love a remastered White Album. Surely there is audio of them working out the songs. Concert rehersals would be nice to. There is audio of them rehersing Warm Ways

The Passaic, Wallingford, Largo and Boston shows from 1975 are soundboard.

Yes, and it was a very nice performance! I'd like to hear it in higher quality, and possible if there are more song from the rehearsals I'd like to hear them too.

Couldn't they just add the Buckingham Nicks album as a bonus? I know that technically it doesn't belong there, but it might be the best way for the record company to generate enough interest in such a box?

If those tapes still exist, then they would make for excellent bonus material for a Deluxe reissue of the 1975 self-titled Fleetwood Mac album.
