In 2014 I was thinking Magic 5 Tour w/ new album. All 5 record the album followed by a World Tour. And I couldn't imagine her not wanting to do that with her old bandmate Christine. It did break my heart a bit that she didn't record with them. Nowadays, I'm so glad she's not there and didn't record with them. I let go. The music will be about the duet. And as they say, a splinter of the group. It should be interesting. I almost wish and hope John and Mick are only on parts of the album.

This puzzled me at first because I think music critics are almost as bad as film critics, but it did remind me how all the reviews for SYW commented on how it just isn't Mac without Christine. (Probably similar to Behind the Mask and The Time). Sooooooo, I the challenge is if critics will say: "Nicks' presence is missed." And, frankly, how can it not be? But it would be too bad if that's the critical line on this release. Christine, after all, was a SIGNIFYING absence on SYW. Among other wonders that album provides.

I am looking forward to the new music. But, I will miss Stevie's voice and Stevie songs.....and that's just how it is. |

I don't see how anyone can comment on Stevie being missed when it isn't even a Fleetwood Mac album. You wouldn't claim 'Stevie is missed' when referring to a Lindsey or Christine solo album. A person cant be missed if its a new entity. As for Say You Will- Lindsey and Stevie really were polar opposites in many ways- musically, they've moved away from each other so much since Buckingham Nicks. Christine really was missed as the bridge in-between them. Chris and Lindsey are more of a natural fit together. Of course Stevie will be missed- we all would prefer a full Fleetwood Mac album. However, I feel sure that wont be the be all and end all as far as the critics are concerned. I think all the evidence we have of them working together in the past really bodes well for something that could be special and garner real critical acclaim.

anyone who's p$ssed Stevie isn't on the album should look to the source--Stevie herself. She's more focused on solidifying her personal fame and status as a legend... as Chris noted, Stevie is a "brand" by this point in her career... and she's, as Chris also noted, "self obsessed" about it. Let's face it, there aren't many (are there any others??) female rockers about 70 who are out there still filling venues... (even tho really she wouldn't fill them without the double bills). That's her focus now.
The rest of us are disappointed, which is a different thing. We're willing to take what we can get while it's still possible to get anything at all......

Not a rocker but Dolly is more than filling arenas and headlined Glasto last year. Isn't Joan Jett touring arenas right about now?

Tina stopped touring quite a while ago. Dolly for sure. Joan is selling out arenas?? It must be a double or triple bill

The only one I can think of on top of my head is maybe Patti Smith?

Ha ha, but I will classify her punkish version of Sonny's Bang Bang as a rock song. And let me take a moment and praise Needles and Pins, while I'm here. I am proud of my guy, even though if he'd have lived, given the climate these days, I'd probably wish he would ski into a tree. Michele |

I would. I always feel that way when I hear any of their solo albums: "If only..." and, of course, even solo I feel they are singing to each other--across albums rather than across or within songs.

Uh....because it is a Fleetwood Mac Album. But not named so because she''s not there. No other reason.
