It's curious because most performers own the rights to their image, and it becomes under the control of their estate/heirs when they die-- think of Marilyn Monroe or Elvis, etc..their family still must approve any use of their likeness to market products or whatever.

So you would think Stevie would own the rights to her image, and would have to give her approval for him to make any money using her image.

Who exactly buys one of these drums? I'm guessing they aren't going to be cheap but I can't imagine any proper musicians wanting to buy one. Why would a drummer want to buy a drum with tacky Rumours logos all over it? More likely its the sort of thing I see for sale near the back of the magazine that comes with my Sunday newspaper. It's sort of nice- but a bit kitsch at the same time.

“I felt that the two of us would bring out brilliant spirits to bear on this,” he says. “What we were aware of was the idea that we had to make it as songwriters on this. ‘When the Heart Rules the Mind’ was the track that was the hit, which Steve Howe and I had written. Geoff Downes had written ‘The Hunter,’ the second track which was the second single, which didn’t fare as well. But I had the impression that Geoff was considered by Clive Davis to be the writer and that we were really the musicians, and in fact, of course, in the long term, what proved to be correct was that it was the track that Steve Howe and I wrote together that was the hit. … There really wasn’t a second single from that album. I think that if there had been a second single taking off then, we would have been giving Fleetwood Mac a run for their money.”

"Another time I was dispatched with my good friend Kevin Freeman to a cardiac arrest at a Fleetwood Mac concert. We heard CPR was in progress, so we ran out in front of the crowd and climbed up the railings to see if we could spot the patient. I remember glancing up on stage and seeing Stevie Nicks looking at me like, what in the world are you doing?

"We finally found the patient, who was not in cardiac arrest, but had heat exhaustion. However, some guy in the crowd claimed he did five chest compressions before the patient came around, so Kevin and I figured we could brag about it as a ‘save.’"

September 2016 New Music Releases

The list of September 2016 New Music Releases boasts a distinct focus on the live experience. There are a couple of new studio projects of note, but more often we find ourselves vicariously experiencing a lot of cool onstage exploits this time around.
The Beatles have announced a long-awaited expanded re-release of Live at the Hollywood Bowl, featuring performances from the Los Angeles venue in 1964 and 1965. We’re also getting more from Jimi Hendrix‘s initial concerts with Band of Gypsys. Machine Gun: The Fillmore East First Show 12/31/69 includes music not earlier featured on Band of Gyspys, which focused on two shows from New Year’s Day 1970.
An expanded reissue of Led Zeppelin‘s double-platinum BBC Sessions will feature eight previously unheard songs. Neil Young‘s long out-of-print 1973 concert recording Time Fades Away finally re-emerges, along with three mid-’70s studio efforts. Peter Gabriel, Styx, Pete Townshend, ZZ Top and Journey are also returning to the concert vaults in September.
The month’s handful of new albums include Bob Weir, Meat Loaf and the Eagles‘ Timothy B. Schmit, all of whom have spent extended periods away from the studio. Elsewhere, both Kansas and Van Morrison offer fresh collaborative experiences – with a new frontman and lyricist, respectively. Bruce Springsteen is also issuing some unearthed material on his upcoming compilation.

Artist reimagines classic album covers to feature 'Star Wars' characters

Steven Lear, a digital artist and former record store manager living in London, found a way to blend two of his hobbies and passions together — graphic design and music — in a very cheeky way.
Going by the artist moniker WhyTheLongPlayFace?, Lear uses Photoshop — a skill he only picked up around two years ago — to mash up iconic album covers from artists like Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Prince, and Nirvana, with characters from all around pop culture. At first, he worked on his projects to help advertise new releases at the music store wherein he worked, but when the store closed down, he started working on his own pieces, and released them via his own social media accounts.
One of the best and most popular series he's worked on so far is the collection of covers that feature "Star Wars" characters, both classic and new.
As you might imagine, the results are fun and absurd. On one, Lear replaces the winged manikin of Nirvana's "In Utero" with C-3P0; on another, he swaps out the prism on the cover of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" with the Death Star. New characters like Rey and Kylo Ren appear throughout his account, too.
He's garnered lots of fans in the process, and recently noted the fact that he's amassed more than 20,000 followers since launching his Instagram. As for how he celebrated the occasion, well, it should be obvious:

Fashion in the ’80s was nothing if not distinctive. In the same way that ducktails defined the ’50s and bell bottoms became shorthand for the ’70s, the neon-lit sartorial choices found in our list of the 30 Most Outrageous ’80s Rock Fashions can be firmly placed in the Reagan years.

No one perhaps pushed the boundaries of couture – and taste – like David Lee Roth, especially following his 1985 departure from Van Halen. But he was far from the only superstar to rise out of the ’70s with a flamboyant makeover. Kiss, fresh from removing their familiar makeup, memorably embraced the wild rock fashion of the day. Journey took to wearing shockingly bright things; Hall and Oates, Heart, Whitesnake, Yes and Fleetwood Mac started teasing their hair; and ZZ Top famously picked up a pair of fuzzy guitars to go with their fuzzy faces.

Even ’60s-era legends like the Rolling Stones, George Harrison, Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton traded in their hippie garb for sleek New Wave threads.

Still, the groups that came into their own in the ’80s were naturals at developing a personal style based on body-clinging spandex, coifs with their own zip codes and the wild over-application of beauty products. Motley Crue, Poison and Twisted Sister boasted custom-made outfits and sky-high ‘dos that were just as capable of shocking you as the music they made.

The front pocket sag of Lindsey Buckingham's shirt is one of the mysteries in the pyramid Hard Rock Cafe at Broadway at the Beach on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016. The shirt is in a glass case so no one really knows what's causing the sag in the pocket. The new cafe at Broadway is opening Oct. 7, 2016. Hard Rock's last night in the pyramid will be this weekend capped off with an opening of a 20-year-old time capsule at 10 p.m. Saturday. The new location seats 528 people and includes new memorabilia, a stage, several semi-private seating areas, a balcony and patio seating. A few things from the pyramid will be added to the collection at the new location - the drum set from Guns N' Roses and a Vespa scooter of Pete Townshend.
