I would imagine a good many jazz musicians don't read notation, either, although that might have changed substantially from the old days. Rock & jazz traditionally aren't notational arts: they're improvisatory. Christine & possibly Bob Welch are probably the only two members of the band since the beginning who actually read music.
I was just reading the Lindsey Buckingham entry in Wikipedia(why was I doing that?) and I noticed this.

We always have to hear who in pop music does not read music, and who studied opera or had some form of classical training.
Yawn.

Play me some music I like- make me cry - I don't care what you studied, unless I am hiring you as a teacher! Feh.

all I can say is that on the SYW tour here in los angeles, my friends and I sat RIGHT NEXT TO the sound booth...Kristen was sitting there. As all the fans yelled out their numerous and various things regarding stevie and lindsay...yadda..yadda...Kristen looked pissed!! LOL

Also, at the Chumash Casino show in summer of 04 in Santa Barbara, Kristen was off to the right of the stage, holding the baby...watching all the way..humm..lol

and then there are those rumors that for a while she and Stevie couldn't be in the same limo together...well come on...I would wonder about my man too if he was always around Stevie

Ouch...Jaz...

I don't think she really sounds very unlike herself in those whatsamatterbabys in When I See You Again. I've been listening to her since Rhiannon first hit the airwaves (as have many of you, I'm sure), and after years of hearing her voice develop into a different range - it was disheartening to hear those whatsmatters...that way. Even Lindsey has mentioned that she sounded horrible.

Two each his own, I guess. Her fans are the best...good to stick up for her - even when she's not her best.

No, but as far as Desert Angel goes, I've talked to some fans that truly HATE that song, which is fine by me cause theyre entitled to their opinion.

I have a chill factor. To me, the test of a great movie, song, poem, whatever is that it gives me chills. Titanic does it, no matter how cheesy I think it is sometimes, I get chills every single time. DA gives me chills every single time. WISYA gives me chills.

I dont really care for much of Rock A Little either. Myabe that's unpopular, maybe not. About the only things I like on it are No Spoken Word, Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You, and Talk To Me.

ooohhh nooo. lol. I love Some Become Strangers and If I Were You too (aside from the singles)!

I'm a freak of nature. The only things Stevie's ever done that I don't like are Cecilia and Starshine. Plain and simple. But that's me.

It's all good man. We all have different opinions. If we all lliked the same stuff what fun would that be? BTW, another thing that surprises me is how low OSOTM is on some people's lists. It's my second favorite album behind Bella Donna.

I think Stevie's smarter than Dubbya. But that's still not saying much is it?

I think Stevie plays dumb sometimes, but in reality, and in the words of Judge Judy Sheindlin, I think she's really "one smart cookie." I still don't get your claim of unintelligence, but then again I'm not a prescriptivist when it comes to measuring intellect. I think intelligence comes in all shapes and sizes. Is Picasso any less intelligent than Einstein? Brilliance and intellect are relative, eh?

so true.

as far as OSOTM goes, I agree that it is really a lot better than some people give it credit for. I totally think of it as the "magic" album.

My favs in order are: BD, TWH, RAL, TISL, OSOTM, SA

The only ones I can think of:

1) I wish she'd cut at least some length off her hair
2) While "Seven Wonders" is catchy, I think it's rather pedestrian and I tend to skip it
3) I can't stand "Talk to Me"
4) I hate the Tusk-era birds' nest hairdo (or is that a really an unpopular opinion?)
