I visited the Catawba College campus back when I lived in North Carolina. What a strange choice for a book signing- it's a small conservative private school in a rural North Carolina town. I wouldn't think it'd be a hotbed for Mac fans at all.

I actually used to live on Park Rd in Charlotte, too... pretty close to Park Rd Books. Another slightly odd choice for a book signing. But since Park Rd Book is one of Charlotte's few remaining locally owned book stores, I guess that's why it was chosen.

That is so great to hear. I had emailed him directly after reading his book, I wanted to ask him a question or two. I thought I would never hear, or maybe his assistant would get back to me. Ken himself actually emailed me back within an hour or two. It was so cool, and he wrote quite a bit.
At that time, he didn't think he would be continuing on with the signing tour as there wasn't much interest in it. And he wasn't too sure about doing the book on the making of Tusk. I had expressed hope that he would be doing it. So, if anyone goes to this signing, please tell him to write the Tusk story,

I'd die for a making of tusk. Especially if it contains details of how some of those sounds are made!!

I'm with you. I would love to get all the details on the recording of this masterpiece.Especially the vocals arrangements. This will always be my favorite MAC album.

Yeah some of those vocal tones I really scratch my head on how they're done. They seem to come in with a really slow attack or something that makes them really dreamy and I'd love to be able to do that on home recordings and get more of it

But a lot of the guitar tones on tusk are so out there too, haven't heard anything like it on any other album.
