Sheryl Crow' s Be Myself
Does anybody know if Stevie made the final cut on Sheryl's new album? I read months back that she was one of the many musicians featured on this upcoming release.

Not the correct album. Sheryl has recorded two albums. Stevie is not on this one.

From Rolling Stone...Crow plans to promote Be Myself with a huge tour. At one point there was talk about doing an "Outlaws" tour with Neil Young and Willie Nelson, but she's not sure if that is still happening. "They're still putting it together," she says. "They've asked us to do it, and I'd be fully on board. Then we'll do a bunch of our own dates." In the meantime, she's also working on an all-star record with Don Henley, Stevie Nicks, Willie Nelson, Vince Gill, Kris Kristofferson and many others.

No, thank you I didn't even know about this until I saw the thread, so I looked it up.

Is there any indication what the new album will be like? I like The Globe Sessions so much more than her other albums, that I find the other albums a bit of an anti-climax.

It's supposed to be a throwback to her '90s albums. I didn't think her stint as a country artist would last, and I was right.

Sheryl has spoken about Be Myself being inspired by her self-titled (second album) and The Globe Sessions. She mentioned that she hopes to have the duets album (featuring Stevie) out later in the year but I suspect 2018 would be the soonest we will see it.

I agree....I think the soonest we'll see it is first quarter 2018! Tentative title is "The People I Love."

I would be very happy with a The Globe Sessions Pt 2.

Sheryl Crow on life after cancer, why she’s so over cycling cheat Lance Armstrong... and how she is still haunted by ex-lover Eric Clapton
More rewarding, perhaps, and certainly less problematic, has been her working relationships with high-profile artists – she’s performed with everyone from Michael Jackson (as a backing singer on the Bad world tour) to The Rolling Stones. Indeed, her next album, Threads, is a series of duets with famous singers including Stevie Nicks, Keith Richards, Stevie Wonder and even the late Johnny Cash. "The Globe Sessions," is my fave Sheryl Crow album.
But I don't think it could be duplicated. It had a truly unique vibe that flowed through the entire album. This duet news is pretty awesome! I'm one of the fans that really likes how they work together, and the music resulting from it. "If you ever did believe," is gorgeous. And I loved TISL! LOVE! They were great together at a TISL show I attended at the Universal Amphitheater. Sheryl basically was on on stage the entire night as part of her band, as well as singing with Stevie throughout the evening. |
