yeah if you are comparing CDs, i think it's kinda ridiculous and waste what they put on LiB CD. i'm thinking more of all the music that's on DVD, for both. majority of more interesting songs/performances on LiB in my opinion are the ones that are not on the CD. plus there's the monkey dance before SB.

re the dance, do i remember correctly that you are primarily a CM fan? if i was in your shoes, i would probably be biased towards the dance too. but also as you said, a lot of the dance criticisms were that it was so much worked on after it was recorded that it should almost not be called "live". blame for that i would think mostly falls on LB's shoulders. i'm glad he doesn't tinker with stuff anymore like that, if judging by all the solo live stuff he put out recently.

Ah I thought we were just talking about the CDs!

Obviously as a Christine fan I love The Dance, but I like the others too, and can appreciate some of the stuff on LiB. I just feel that, in particular, Stevie's voice was doing weird things at that time (very nasal) and that Lindsey did some stuff better on The Dance. I think, for example, that ISA on The Dance is much better than on LiB. Still, each to their own.

I said I had them all. I did at one point, but I no longer have Behind the Mask, which I really do not like.

I have kept three songs from Mask on my Ipod, however.

I like Time, btw

I'm kind of with you regarding BTM. There's too much of it that I simply find unlistenable, although the title track is Christine's best since Brown Eyes, IMO. Other albums might have one completely dreadful track (When You Say, Roadrunner, Family Man spring to mind) but on BTM there are too many clunkers.

I'm not including my late wife's masterpiece on Bare Trees, though. A little English whimsy does no harm every so often.

I got all the official releases (most of them within a week of their release date) from Dog & Dustbin to Live In Boston (2003), and a plethora of semi-official live releases as well as quite a number of some downright illegal bootlegs. (and about 6 or 7 versions of Rumours) Also, have the singles that the B-side was not on the album from which the A-side was taken (except "Green Manalishi"/"World In Harmony"...that's still my "Holy Grail")

AND, most of the major members' solo albums, as well. (Peter, Jeremy, Danny, Bob Weston, Bob Welch, Christine, Mick, Lindsey & Stevie) My collection isn't quite as complete as John's (wetcamelfood), but, it's close.

Just just got up to date on Jeremy Spencer's post-Mac catalogue this past week. Looking forward to getting his new album shortly (Coventry Blue)

HAHAHAHAHAHA the last choice is too funny!!!!!!!! And sad if you only own...Time...no offends!
Dear friends, my collection IS really sad. I don't have enough CDs yet!!
I own Then Play On, Penguin, FM '75, Rumours, Live, Tango, Say You Will, and The Very Best of (single and double) on CD, then Bare Trees and Behind the Mask on cassette...and the rest on my pc...
But, I must say that, except for Time, I have all their albums, in one format or another, from 1972 to 2004, which is not bad at all! (Sorry Peter!!!)
Regards!

Default Curious...

Does anyone else have the Selections From Live In Boston Vol. 2? I downloaded it from Amazon a long time ago and I don't know that I've ever seen it again. Certainly not on iTunes.

I've got all of the studio albums. I also have Greatest Hits, The Dance, 25 Years: The Chain and I downloaded Extended Play.

Even though I own the lot only really listen to the Rumours line up regularly. However, each year I will have a retrospective and listen to them all from start to finish.

About five years ago, I started collecting the blues stuff, which had been the only albums missing from my collection. I have them all now. I transferred everything to digital files (yes, horrors!) and refer to them quickly on my drives when I need some information. I will occasionally look at the old vinyl and cassettes in the cold basement when I'm feeling nostalgic.

How many of you guys have ALL the guest appearances on other albums? That must run into the multi-hundreds.
