AMEN! Christmas Vacation is the best Christmas movie ever.

I thought I was the only one who can't stand A Christmas Story!

Best Christmas movie ever and one of my all-time favorite movies regardless of the season. Does anyone have the 20th Anniversary Edition DVD? It's a hoot watching the extras with all the kids as adults. And the commentary is pretty good. Peter Billingsley is pretty fine these days, too.

I've got to get this because I couldn't watch it this year on TV. Christmas Eve I was too busy partying and then Christmas day Bro and Dad would not watch it because they saw it Christmas Eve I've got to go back to Newbury Comics anyway to return a DVD I got for my bro, maybe I'll pick up the DVD then! I am seriously distressed over missing it this year!

Nope. I hate it, too. I think it's a bore, and I can't sit through it without getting up and doing something else. Total snooze feast. The "jokes" are rather stupid.

I never cared about the movie either but I was working in downtown Cleveland when they were making the movie and got to watch them build the Santa area with the big slide and decorate the square where they had the parade. The department store (Higbee's) where the movie was filmed is sadly no longer there. It was fun watching them do the movie and the only part I really thought was funny was when the kid got his tongue stuck to the pole.

I love this movie! I like the whole mean Santa and mean elves scene. With the Wizard of Oz characters (wtf? for Xmas?) and that geeky girl in front of Ralphie and his brother. "I like the Tin Man." Bwah!

But this one -- "A Christmas Story" from 1983 -- is a gem. What a hoot! What a howl! It's perfect. Add it to your NetFlix queue. I'm adding it to mine.
