Just got back. He was off the stage at 9:15. SWS last song. I'm writing a post and will post what few pictures that came out in a sec.

I did not get my ticket in time for a Meet and Greet and when I asked if there were any upgrades available at will call, they said "no."

It was a great show. Not an improvement over the show I saw in Los Angeles, but equally as good.

You guys are always complaining about people not standing, but when you're at tables, it's hard to stand anyway. Not that I believe in standing at all, but even if I had wanted to, the close seating and chair and round table obstructions would have made it rather difficult. I was several tables back, though. Up front, I guess people could have gone up, but they didn't.

Before the show came out, guy came out and told us this was the last time he would ask us to turn off the phones and said no texting. If we were caught doing it, we'd be escorted out. I think he was being unnecessarily gruff. He said photography was ok, but no flash. He said he would come and get the meet and greet people after the show.

It seemed to me that the guitar on CAD sounded a bit tinny. Since the venue was called "Peformance Lab" I expected excellent sound, but it wasn't on that first song. it was great after that and Lindsey's voice was wonderful. As crisp when he whispered as it was when he roared.

When the opening notes of BTLH started, people seemed to recognize it right away and there was a rustle of applause immediately.

He held his hands apart, like an accordion that got smaller and smaller as he brought the bellows in. He said he started with a 10 piece band. Then for years he traveled with a smaller band, there were 4 of them. Now, it's just him.

This generated laughter from the audience, but Lindsey didn't seem to become really enthusiastic himself until after Stephanie (that song always makes me want to sing "Teach your children well . . . " When he mouthed the words "oh yeah. Oh yeah," with a big grin twisting and transforming his face.

You know, on past tours, Come seemed to pick up speed, getting good at the end guitar solo, but this time around it sounds great to me early on. The tempo is just right; the singing is as enthralling as the playing and I don't think I always got that energy from it. That was the first song that got several people standing after it. A guy yelled, "you're playing your ass off," after it ended. Lindsey smiled, lips ever pursed.

Big Love: Lindsey if you really can't remember "1987" after struggling to recall the exact year night after night, concert after concert, you've got a mental problem. Get that checked out, buddy. Honestly, while he pauses to search for a date, I'm just going to yell out "1987."

The intro to ISA has such a drum, congo beat these days I'm almost starting to mistake it for Tusk. Maybe that's why Tusk has gone missing. The setlist isn't big enough for 2 tribes.

I like the way the music stops abruptly at the end of GYOW. That was unexpected. Of course, I'm used to him jumping up and down in front of a drummer and ending it that way. But this way, when he's facing the audience and there's sudden silence is jolting and fun too.

At the end he said it's the small machine that keeps him growing and aspiring to be an artist, to take risks. He thanked us for being a part of it.

He said he was only going to do one more song and the audience moaned. He said, "how quickly you turn."

He said that he's getting a blister. It's been a month since he last performed (which verifies he didn't do that Cedars thing) and he said that blister is going to be bad for the next show tomorrow night.

Lovely night, thanks to a guy who won't shut down and s staying around as long as he can.

I didn't get any good photos. I only had my iphone. I was far from the stage and I don't know how to use the zoom very well.

No, he wasn't playing the guitar, he was just setting it up.

So horrible that you've been sick. Murphy's Law I know. I got sick in England on the day before an FM show at Earl's Court. I was in bed with stomach flu and only got up a couple of hours before the concert. The streets were so crowded that the cabbie didn't want to take me all the way to the venue, even though I was willing to pay. He kept telling me I could walk there in a few minutes. Meanwhile, my stomach was telling me that things could get precarious if I tried to walk those last few blocks , but in the end things worked out ok.

Anyway, pretty good show. Michele has posted much of what I'd say. I felt like it was a show of two distinct halves, the former mostly comprised of LB-solo stuff and the latter more Mac and traditional stuff. Basically, for me, the first half kicked ass and the second was a let down. The first half had the three from UTS, SUD, CAD and NTL, which are basically as good as you get with LB live, IMO, (and they were all fabulous tonight) and also as Michele alluded to a muchly improved Come, which actually sounded good for the first time to me ever, including live in 03, or actually on the SYW album.

GYOW and T was so-so, ISA was good, but a bit subdued, and he did some neat things with GI and NGBA, not so much screaming in NGBA which was nice.

He changed the stories up a bit (although he hardly spoke during the 70 minute show), and even did a bit of what i think was meant to be self parody by mentioning his big/small machine analogy and explaining how he started with a full band, now solo.. "the small machine got smaller".


Viv, noone else played, they're just roadies.

I'm gonna have to listen to a UTS show in bed to calm down LB gets me so wired.. I was spellbound listening to NTL. What a song.

right? it's an interesting and nice feeling. particularly NTL and BTLH are such spectacular intricate songs, especially live and stripped down like this.

but ISA on this tour... that's the song that gets me - as you said - wired. it's just spellbounding - maybe it's the "tribal" beat like Michele described...

and i think Go Insane has also been unbelievable and emotionally strong throughout this tour. NGBA is the only one i wish he wouldn't do, but i guess it's a casual listener crowd pleaser. oh yeah, Trouble too. but everybody already knows my feelings about that one.

as the tour went on though, one of the highlights for me has been to try to get him to do requests... at first it was Rock Away Blind, now i'd like to get him to do some other stuff too... not that it will work every time (maybe that''s what all the blister talk was about - LB telling us "don't get your hopes up people!"), but it did work a few times so definitely worth a try.

Thinking of the tweets you corral Elle, I wonder why that guy was saying to us no tweeting during the show. First of all, I doubt anyone is going to spend an entire night tweeting. Secondly, the light from the tweeting phones wouldn't be any worse than the light used when phones are in camera mode. There is light from the screen, even when you aren't using flash.

The contemporaneous tweets make great advertising for future shows. If you see those tweets and you know LB is going to come to your area in a few days, they could spur you to go out and get tickets.

lol, the trying-to remember act before he says "1987" sounds a bit more odd every time I hear it. I have to think he does that on purpose to make the dialogue sound more impromptu, because sometimes he acts like he is racking his brain to try to remember the date but there is no way he would forget from one night to the next.

That stinks about tomorrow night (feel sorry that he has to play with a blister.) I am looking forward to the show, though

Lindsey Buckingham Live in Oklahoma City, OK November 3, 2012

First show of the last leg of the tour, Lindsey played The Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma last night and as usual blows those in attendance away! Lounge like atmosphere similar to other small venue shows he's performed in during this tour. Reportedly less than 200 people seated for the show. Set list unchanged from previous legs.

Now that looks roomy enough, but imagine when it's occupied with a warm body in every seat at every table. A tiny bit of an obstacle course. Michele
