They don't even list FM as an artist...You would at least think they would still sell "Rumours" or one of the "greatest hits".

Mick keeps walking back the idea of a new album. As time passes it becomes clear that SN has no interest.

As time goes on I do not give up any hope.

1. Now all members of FM are free agents.
2. They are most likely working on forming a new production company if they are going indie.
3. Stevie is probably still under some kind of contractual agreement to promote 24 karat gold for a period of time, through media and appearances. I highly doubt her contractual obligation was just to release the album and be let go. So, FM to start spreading news of the new album would derail WB last investment.
4. I will start worrying if we do not hear any new details on the new album till the month after the final date of "On with the Show".

I just perused all 30 pages of this thread. It was mind boggling! My brain hurts now.

What ever happens .Its time to move on.

We are worried over this bloody album so much and we forgot how lucky we are to see all 5 together on stage.

We got to cherish those moments.

Agreed!

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would get to see them as a 5, and yet I was there last year when Christine returned and I'll be there next year in Manchester for a full concert with all 5.

Perhaps she'll just do studio versions of Fireflies and Sweet Girl and leave the rest to the other two.

That is always a possibility! Or maybe yet another redo of Crystal.

Stevie has it pretty easy. She doesn't have to play an instrument, and she isn't producing the album. The rest of the band mostly carries the weight of work and responsibility for making the record. That's why it's somewhat infuriating she is playing the primadonna card with the band that made her famous, and made accommodations which allowed her to pursue a solo career.

She has a right to be frustrated about the timing of Christine's return and their immediate decision to tour. It has thwarted her ability to promote her solo album in the traditional manner. I suspect that, even if she was given that chance, it wouldn't have made that much more of an impact on her sales and chart numbers. The revenue she is collecting on this this tour probably vastly outweighs the financial return she could possibly generate from her album. It's very disappointing and surprising that Stevie has shown such ambivalence and a lack of loyalty and enthusiasm to work with the band to make what could likely be their swan song album. It makes her outward happiness that Christine is back in the band so disingenuous.

I just had a thought. What if Stevie's ambivalence -- along with Mick's statements that they "hope" Stevie will record with them -- is intentional drama meant to get the public (and the media) wound up for when Stevie finally agrees? The success of Rumours taught Mac that the whole love/hate drama is a huge selling point for a certain variety of fan (and again, the media), so maybe this is part of the play-acting?

I've been thinking the same thing, particularly as I'm seeing them on this tour with Christine. On stage they seem so thrilled to be playing together and in such good spirits. I keep wondering if now that they are all clear of prior recording contracts whether this tension over a new FM record could at least be partly orchestrated to build interest from the media and potential record companies. Who knows, but I am on the side of really wanting Stevie to get involved in this project and I think ultimately she will.

Is Lindsey producing the next record? If so, that may be part of Stevie's issue.

That would NEVER happen. You think she we have two retreads while the others have brand new material? No way. Zero percent chance.

Default New Album

I don't think there should be a new album unless it's a proper follow up to "Tango". All 5 or nothing. Stevie needs to stop creating any unnecessary drama, and I say this as a Stevie fan.
