the chorus is catchy. I hoped a modern producer like Kurstin would rein in her tendency to ramble, but i guess not. Still, it's nice to see Stevie noticed in pop culture.

Learn how to spell. It's 'Mary Jo Kopechne', not 'Mary Joe Kopechnebin'.

Also, bringing up this poor young woman just so you can go on a rant about your personal politics (and make a completely out of left field comment about Stevie's video) is just inappropriate, not to mention ghoulish.

The song is pretty good but it sounds like a demo to me. It needs more polishing. However all of Stevie's solo music since 2001 sound like boring demos to me.

She's has more than just Mabel Normand. In my opinion A Thousand Days, Imperial Hotel, Mirror Mirror, and Trouble in Shangri-La are all in this vein too.

I love the new song more each time I listen to it.

If Mary Jo was in the video what would she be doing? Swimming? You know JPK III paralyzed a gal once. I am not surprised she is not in the video.

Stevie has already written a whole song for Monica and it’s pretty great, if I may say so. She doesn’t need to be in the video.

Please god, throw it away. It's awful.

Way too much nonsense crammed into those verses. Let's be real, she has repeatedly said through the years how other people do ~magical~ things to her songs to make them "wonderful".

Sounds like no one was consulted here, and the song just kept going...

Even calling it a song is generous ..it is more like a meandering., tuneless and droning mess. Her gift was once coming up with a simple yet haunting melody and mystical but somehow universal lyrics combine that with a sometimes eerie and emotive voice and we have a winner..if this dud is any indication that is all gone now.

I like those parts, they give you the real sense of the dream like quality: "The dress came across the Persian carpet" "I fell into the dress". she's communicating those odd things that happen in dreams which are senseless but make sense to you while you're in the dream.

Me too. I like it a lot and the chorus has stuck with me ever since hearing it the first time.

She didn't mean John Kennedy, she meant John Lennon.

No Republicans? Bush I and Bush II are both in it. And a lot of Republicans would take issue with including Trump, tbh.
