Okay... MUST remember to ask my friend to borrow the honeymood video.
If I remember correctly, on one of the episodes someone mentioned the towns of Cozad and Kearney. I once visited relatives in both towns during the mid 70s, I was about 16 years old. Those were some PO-dunk towns, no offense. For fun, in Cozad, I picked up an old leather shoe sole and a rusty railroad spike off the street, went to the dime store and bought some acrylic paints and a brush, then painted flowers on them. Also bought a skateboard from the thrift store for 25cents, road it around the park all day until it got dark. When I walked in the door at grandma's she was hoppin mad and on the phone with my dad trying to get him to make travel arrangements to send me back to Calif! Oh and grandma taught me a chemistry lesson, if you take a rusty railroad spike and put it in a glass of pop overnight it will take the rust off. Here I thought when she sent me to the corner store for a Coke she was going to let me drink it. She was so old fashioned she wouldn't let anyone under the age of 18 drink a Coke. Laura |
