Cool. I hadn't seen ( or heard ) that before. I really do like Lindsey's better ( of course ), but Donovan's suited the era it was recorded in. BTW, I gave your Youtube comment ( for this video ) a thumbs up!

The GOS demo version is SUBLIME. I'd put it up there with anything he's ever done solo-wise, with that extended outro and the vocals. The album version, eh.

I think it's interesting that he changes the tenses..."I'm going to try for the sun" vs. "We were only trying for the sun."

But then again, judging from his "Thrown Down" comments to Stevie on the Destiny Rules doc...he has a thing against changes tenses within a song. Buuuuuut, you wouldn't say that to Bob Dylan.

It's a good song. I do prefer Lindsey's vocal, though. Donavan has some interesting songs. My favorite is 'Season of the Witch'.
