Default question about guitars

When the band recorded Tusk, what guitars was Lindsey using? The one he uses in Over and Over does not sound like the Turner One to me..

Folks who watched the Tusk documentary probably can answer this better. It's been 20 years since I saw it, so I can't remember what Lindsey was playing. If I had to guess, Lindsey was probably playing mostly Strats and Teles during those sessions. I don't believe the Turner came into play until the end of the recording sessions. He used it for the first time on the road during the Tusk tour.

He was using strats, teles, and Les Pauls mostly. ChiliD could probably tell you EXACTLY what guitars/models/years, lol. ChiliD, you are a guitar guru!

The only guitar I remember Lindsey playing on the Tusk docu is a Les Paul. He does a cool little thing whilst the others are just sitting about looking tired.

From what I recall, Lindsey was using a faded tobacco Les Paul Standard for most of the heavy work and a Strat for the lighter stuff although the Strat with relavent distortion can produce some aggressive tones (note Gold Dust Woman on the Rumours album as an example).

Again, as I recall, The Model 1 came in for the tour as quite frankly the Les Paul couldn't cut through the bands sound enough to be as vocal with Lindsey's Travis picking style as was needed yet the extra aggressiveness of the Turner seemed to work......

Owning, or having owned all of the main guitar models Mr.Buckingham used on that tour myself I can state that the Turner for sure is the one to use for stage presence due to it's incredible power and tonal distinction yet for the more delicate studio work a Strat would be the guitar of choice for me and a Les Paul Standard, although giving a distinct sound is too messy for either situation in my humble opinion.....
