Are you talking the new studio album? If so, I would predict 4 million copies. A Greatest Hits album will likely hit platinum eventually, but I would guess 800,000 or so in the next couple of years.

The greatest hits sold 8 million in the US. Not sure about the world.
Anyways about the new album. I think it will hit #1 and sell 3 million copies.

I have to agree with 3 million copies, but it also depends on the reviews as well.....HOWEVER, reviews don't mean anything, because TISL got great reviews, and only went gold.....It realy depends on the quality of what they put out.....

I have high hopes for this new studio album....I think a lot of it depends on if the first single does well (particularly on vh1 and/or much music stations) because the majority of americans have switched from radio to music videos....they could really use a decent hit single to start off with.......
It will have a lot to do with promotion...im wondering what record company it will be put out on, because I know Reprise is lacking in quality now a days....if people have no idea its even out, they wont buy it....i would predict #1 debut with a couple million in sales...id be surprised if it did 5 mill, but 3 mill sounds acceptable ~chris~

Wait a minute . . .
Wait a minute . . . how do we know there will even BE a new studio album? Does anyone even know if they're working on it? We haven't heard anything for a long, long time, have we?
Frankly, I give it a 50/50 chance. |

Okay, there is this . . .
Okay, I did find this on MP3 Insider, stated by Mick in late July (and I think someone brought this up elsewhere):
"Well I'm flattered, and you'll be happy to know the band itself is alive and well. We're in the studio finishing off what appears to be a double album, which will be out in the new year--early new year, after Christmas--and we will be seemingly behaving ourselves and rehearsed on time to get out on the road in mid-April." So maybe the chances are better than I thought, and I'll stop being a party pooper. Also, there's the mention Stevie made in her birthday note. So who knows . . . Anyway, I like the thought of a double album. It seems much more dramatic, and it's one of the things I thought was so gutsy about Tusk. |

Hi Rainman, this note was recently posted by Stevie herself at The Nicks Fix
"[...] The Mac album is coming along very quickly - it won´t be long now and I´m very excited - can´t wait to share it with you. Be well - Love, Stevie Nicks" Hope this helps. |

Thanks
Thanks, Street Angel. Was doing some digging and I found that. It does provide some optimism, doesn't it?

You´re welcome. I agree, it does sound optimistic indeed. Sounds like Stevie is really pleased with the result. And fortunately we´ve been spared the typical "Forget our other albums, this is our best and most personal album to date" comments so far.
