Default My exciting day

Had a close call with death yesturday.

Had an anaphtlactic reaction after I ate something. Don't know what that something was. But I found myself at the hospital for the afternoon being pumped with all sorts of drugs, hooked up to IV's and having injections in the arms/ I guess my blood pressure when up to 182 and then down to 68.
I was shaking all over form to much epi (?).
Any one with a medical back ground can give me some info on what was happening to me. Ir have had something simular.
I'm doing fine today, just a little tired from it all.

I don't have a medical background but I am sorry to hear about your experience. Anyway I am glad that you are doing better and I hope that you can find out what did it so that you can avoid it from now on.

I'm so sorry about what happened Alison. It must have been so scary. I found an online resource that explains anaphylaxis. Apparently, when the immune system comes to recognize a certain substance as a threat after having been exposed to it once, the entire body has an allergic reaction after it is exposed again. It's usually caused by insects bites and food and drug allergies. I hope that link helps a little bit--I was looking for something in layman's terms because the first few websites I found were pretty confusing.
