Thanks so much!

EDIT: P.S. I don't want to be picky (personally I don't care, but there are some other folks who want this show who might), but you don't have these as lossless wavs or flac files, do you?

No, these are not lossless or flac files. That's why I didn't respond to your request right away. I thought that you only wanted lossless files. Here are the last 3 tracks, by the way:

That's all right, these are fine by me! Thanks for posting!

If anybody does have a lossless version of this, though, would they mind throwing it up on Dime metime soon? I'll grab it and seed it as quickly as possible so you don't have ot stay on all day!

Thanks for the posting...even being in the WMA format shouldn't be too lossey, back when this was recorded most tape decks had frequency ranges of 50-15,000 or so...which is usually what the lossey formats cut down to for quicker compression.

Surely this one deserves to be announced here too. First time for me to hear "Nightwatch" live! And according to the original seeder's mp3 samples it sounds pretty good for a Fleetwood Mac bootleg.

Quote:
Fleetwood Mac Live at the Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles 1974-11-30 Complete "Heroes Are Hard To Find" Show from master reel to reel AUD tape (first time in circulation) Rare setlist, and one of Bob Welch's last shows! mp3 sample

This reel had become seperated from its broken tape box some time back, and had become misplaced and forgotten. The box had become damaged sometime prior to my possession in the early 1990's, and the tape had apparently been improperly stored as a result.

If you collect music the way I do, organization is a real problem. Wait, let's talk about that for a minute: most people who DO collect music the way I do generally have a spouse or family member, who either doesn't understand and says something to you about it, or... who sometimes takes matters into their own hands and rearranges all of your carefully arranged "**** piles" into a clean, tidy, out of the way place... where you can't find anything anymore.

Does this sound familiar?

Mrs. Doinker is NOT like that, she's a very understanding woman. She's even asked to be quoted here:

"Once in a while I get tired of being alone. Sometimes I come come and the first thing you do is go up on that dammed computer. Then, when you finally come to bed, you expect me to be bright and cheerful. But, I'm not. I'm smarter than you".

Great... just great... LOLOL!!!

As a reference to this subject, or if you are with me for the first time, look at the title page of this torrent:

http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-d...id=68263&hit=1

But hey, anyway, as I was saying, organizing stuff is a bit of a problem around here. So, the box destoyed itself, and the reel disappeared for over two years.

The reel was located open on a shelf while trying to reorganize CDr's. A faulty transfer had been made when the tapes were first received, and I found that. From there a search went on for the reel.

No amount of tape baking will work on this tape. It's mechanically damaged and the oxide is no longer there for parts of it. What you will hear is a reconstruction that took many hours to do. Recording levels were altered many times, and one portion was reconstructed from scratch with overlays from other material within the concert due to unrecoverable damage. It still isn't perfect, but it is listenable to.

Identifying the show was another matter. The tape only says "Shrine" on it, and there was nothing else to go by. Through the kind courtesy of FMLegacy.com, the date of 1974-11-30 was given as a possibility. On this date, Fleetwood Mac opened for the Jefferson Starship. A quick search turned up the Starship reel, and the dates matched.

It's a great set, with rarely heard material:

Setlist:

Disk 1
Intro - Coming Home
The Green Manalishi
Spare Me A Little Of Your Love
Sentimental Lady
Future Games
Bermuda Triangle (over 12 mins!)
Why
Nightwatch

Disk 2
Believe Me
BlacK Magic Woman
Oh Well
Band Intro Blues - Band Intros
Rattlesnake Shake
Hypnotized

Check out the "World Turning" style drum solo during "Nightwatch"!

Personnel:

Bob Welch
Christine McVie
John McVie
Mick Fleetwood
Bobby Hunt

Bobby Hunt's tenure with the band was extremely short-lived. It is sure that he only played with the band from September through December, and that he was the second, and final keyboardist before Welch's departure. This show was recorded during a very turbulent time in the band's history, right at the end of the band's second era.

With the acquisition of Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks toward the end of the following year, greater treasures lay ahead. But at the time of this recording, Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer's weird departures had dug such a black hole, that it threatened to put the group out of business forever.

Enjoy!
A DoinkerTape

Since at this show at the Shrine they were the opening act for Jefferson Starship, their set was shorter than the one I saw the next night at the Long Beach Arena, when they were the headliners.

Additional tunes at Long Beach:

Get Like You Used To Be (opened the set, followed by "Coming Home")
Station Man (between "Coming Home" & "Green Manalishi")
Bad Loser (between "Why" & "Night Watch")
Jewel-Eyed Judy (between "Believe Me" & "Black Magic Woman")
Homeward Bound (first encore tune...after "Rattlesnake Shake" closed set..."Hypnotized" finished off the night)

I believe that the Long Beach show was the final night of the tour, which means that I saw Bob Welch's final show with Fleetwood Mac.

More goodies. This is a definite upgrade on what some of us have and it's the complete show too! This is the one that has a Bob/Chris duet on "(I Loved) Another Woman".

07 Hypnotized

Here we have a very good audience recording with a bit of a different set list than the previous '74 post. This came to me years ago dated as October 14th, a quick search turned up the correct date of October 19th.

True to form in Chicago we get some very nice blues played in additon to the normal '74 setlist (Christine never sounded so good as on "I'd Rather Go Blind").

Great complete show I've listened to many many times over the years, it really gives you a great feel for the 1974 version of the band and what they were like live.

I've boosted the master gain by +4dbs and cleaned up the song transitions a bit.

As always sound samples attached...

Enjoy!

Exclamation Fleetwood Mac-Jan.2,1970-Fillmore West, CA torrent

http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-d....php?id=109428

Me again:

I don't know if this has been up here before, but my reel sounds sooo goood that I thought I would share it anyways and wait to see what everyone says.....

I got this Fleetwood Mac show about 25 yrs ago. The Master Cassette Tape was sent to me...copy made @ 7 1/2 ips. Great sound for a 1970 vintage show. There are some issues. Sounds like Tape to Head contact was not there when the pause button was pushed. So there is some loss in the high frequency range when this happens. Still a great sounding show.

Many thanks to my good friends on the West Coast for all the great trades they provided me with!

Oh and I forgot.......Another analog recording moved into the digital realm
