Default Christine interview in Mojo magazine

There's a lovely new interview with Christine in the new June issue of Mojo (Sgt Pepper on the cover). She talks about her childhood, joining FM, leaving, re-joining, and of course the new album.

She resists the idea that it was ever going to be a new FM album: 'That might have been how the press were presenting it, but we really had no project in mind at that time.'

The interviewer describes it as 'buoyant' and says her songs are 'all about harmonies and pathos'.

Definitely worth £5.25 of anyone's money...

You know if Lindsey is in a mood, he's not going to say that. He's more mellow than he used to be, but he is not compliant. John gets cranky and wouldn't say it either, not that he ever talks. Michele

I agree with elle. I don't know why Christine would put it on the press. Mick and Lindsey have confirmed it was a FM album and that they were just waiting for Stevie to add her songs. So knowing that, this interview makes Christine look silly, to say the least.

Happy to hear someone say they like the album, though. At least, buoyant sounds complimentary.

and Christine confirmed in 2014-2015 interviews. as usual, woman has to do the cleanup for boys' mess, they just made up a tale and sent her out to try to sell it.

yeah, they were all in the same city, back in the spring of 2014, about to rehearse for the OWTS tour. and booked the studio. and then SN flew to Nashville. and then there were 4.

that's probably why he's not out there. it's Mick and Christine selling the album and the tour and the agreed-upon spin. i just wish they didn't make her spinning this bs - but it's fantastic to see Christine out and about in interviews, and their little promos, either way!

It's a tough choice. Throw your pretentious band mate under the bus. Or,try to sell me a bridge in Brooklyn. Poor Chris... at least she got 16 years away from that mess.

curious though that as they are now a duo they aren't doing this round of promotion as a duo....

Avoid Lindsey having to deal with questions like, "you made the last album with Mick, John and Stevie, and now this album is with Mick, John and Chris, what are the differences?"

Or, "For many years FM was a foursome, with Stevie Nicks and you as the singer/songwriters. Now you're a foursome again, this time with Christine Mc Vie and you as the singer/songwriters. Why is that? And how was making this album different than your last album with Stevie?"

People are far more likely to harp on the Stevie thread with him, which frankly is their own doing since so much of their 'marketing' especially in recent years before Chris returned was all about the "dialogue" he and Stevie are still having with each other and all that.......

Given the way Lindsey and Christine originally hedged about Stevie's participation--"should Stevie want to participate," we'll be glad to work her in the mix, etc, blah, blah, blah, I'm guessing they always knew in the back of their minds that she wasn't going to do it. Still, I wish Christine could just say, "Yeah, this was supposed to be a Mac album; yeah, it SHOULD be a Mac album; yeah, spinning this crap is crap." But she sees all the ensuing plans for 2017-18 as a chance to go out in a blaze doing what she loves and I suppose doing the rounds with the press is part of all that.
