Agreed. I love Joni Mitchell and this is one of my favorite songs of hers.

I was there! At the Hammerstein Ballroom in... 2000? Top balcony, of course. It was a taping of a TBS special, so it was impossible to get any closer...

Stevie isn't stupid enough to be tempted into covering a Joni Mitchell song. Many dare to try, but very few pull it off. So if your name is not Judy Collins or Tom Rush, stay away. Or, in the case of Crosby Stills and Nash, you need to totally revamp the song so that it can actually be sung by mortals.

Sarah McLachlan did a beautiful version of Blue for her Fumbling Towards Ecstacy album. One that very nearly topped the original, in my opinion.

Nothing can top that 2000 version of BSN. I can't even listen to Joni's original anymore. As far as Stevie covering it, I have to give that a big thumbs down. For one thing, that song has been subjected to hundreds of covers, and most of them are pure dreck. There are very few JM covers that I appreciate. For one thing, her songs are so personal, and most people just try to copy her version of whatever song they're doing, and that never works.

Unlike some Ledgies, I loved Lindsey's version of Big Yellow Taxi.
