Thanks so much for this!! This is such a great song both lyrically and musically. It sounds great no matter how bad she has ever sung it. The Mirage HBO concert in '82: she sang it soooooooo bad it was in fact what made it sound so good....make sense?? I actually love that version, but people that don't know her ...like the 20 somethings of today, hear that and say "what the $%#@??" They just don't get it. Nothing like live music in the 80's!! Thanks again for this post. SOOOOOOOOOOOOooo appreciated.

It makes perfect sense. I love the way she rendered that song for the HBO concert....so ragged and emotional. It's great! In fact, I prefer that one to the more sedate and measured version she did on The Dance tour.

She had just lost Robin before the Mirage tour so everything was over emotional and raw. The fact that she was able to go through w the tour was remarkable in itself. The HBO version of Gypsy was incredibly painful for her to perform so it may not be considered one of her best efforts.

I think it was her BEST performance of that song. I would love to have it in high quality mp3. It gave the song a real rock twist that the original lacked. PLUS, she looks REAL hot singing it. She looked and sounded her best when she felt her worst. Wish it worked that way for me.

Wow, I'm at work now and can't download these yet but I can't wait. Gypsy is one of my favorite Stevie/FM songs. I'm sure I have a bunch of these but it will be nice to have these all in one place like this.

There was a live version on YouTube, I don't remember which show but it was a Stevie Solo show, and at the very end she sings "I still see your... beautiful beautiful blue eyes" and it is filled with such sorrow that I cry every time I hear it. I wish I could find that video again.
