So, I've been thinking about the possible outcomes of Round 2 as it advances. We could very well end Round 2 with less that 18 songs. Remember the 50% rule so some polls could maybe not have a winner or just one winner. I don't know. Once Poll #7 closes, we'll have a count of all the songs that meet the 50% requirement. If that number is below 18, the songs that got 40% in Round 2 will be in one or two "Underachievers" poll to fill out the 18 song collection.

Then again Round 2 could end with like 22 songs, then the contest would advance to Round 3.

The Rumours/Tusk poll will be posted tomorrow - basically a new poll on the even numbered days.

At the present time, the early years and '75 Mac/Rumours poll have all songs at 50%. We mostly like will have a Round 3.

Polls are still open. The Tusk/Mirage poll will be posted today.

With Chris' long tenure in the band + her solo work, it's not surprising.

Wish I hadn't missed the 71-74 polls, so many of my favorite Christine songs there. Ah well, my own fault.

Ledgies we are fast approaching the end of the "Just Perfect: The Definitive Christine McVie Collection." Here are the songs we have so far and a few other matters to decide and complete.
1. Get Like You Used to Be - Chicken Shack, 1968
2. I'd Rather Go Blind - Christine Perfect, 1970
3. Spare Me a Little - Bare Trees, 1972
4. Why - Mystery to Me, 1973
5. Come a Little Bit Closer - Heroes Are Hard to Find, 1974
6. Say You Love Me - Fleetwood Mac, 1975
7. Over My Head - Fleetwood Mac, 1975
8. You Make Loving Fun - Rumours, 1977
9. Songbird - Rumours, 1977
10. Think About Me - Tusk, 1979
11. Hold Me - Mirage, 1982
12. Little Lies - Tango in the Night, 1987
13. Everywhere - Tango in the Night, 1987
14. As Long As You Follow - Greatest Hits, 1988
15. Love Shines - 25 Years: The Chain, 1992
16. Friend - In the Meantime, 2004
17. Calumny - In the Meantime, 2004
We still have 3 more slots available. The In the Meantime poll closes Saturday. If three songs from that poll make 50%, then we have our 18 songs. If not, then I'll do one runner-up poll from the Round 2 top underachievers - Don't Stop (46%) and Got a Hold on Me/Isn't It Midnight (42%).

We need to make this an actual collection/album with some graphics and liner notes. If any Ledgie(s) are interested, let us know. We need to decide on the sequence of this album - either chronilogical or something else.

This really is an awesome list of songs (even though Don't Stop isn't on it, yet ) . I have this list on my Spotify account. I also plan to make a CD of these songs.

Anyother ideas/suggestions let us know...

I'd like to suggest that you could solve a couple of problems by increasing the final number of songs to 20. I think "Don't Stop" needs to be on this. I also think it is appropriate for one song (at least) from each of her solo albums to make the final cut, thus I believe "Got a Hold on Me" needs to be on this. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with the track list. I think one Chicken Shack song being on this is a very good thing, and three songs from her pre-Rumours-era FM output is not too bad.

If this were a REAL Christine McVie comp -- put out professionally by a record company -- what it would also have is a previously unreleased track, either something from the vaults or a NEW song recorded by Christine specifically for the comp. This is the way record companies get people who already have all the songs to buy a release like this. Too bad our little project won't be able to have this!

I'm inclined to agree with nicepace. I really appreciate that MSB really stuck to his own rules throughout this contest, but looking at the list of songs now... I think Don't Stop is a pretty glaring omission. It just seems farcical not to have it in a collection that calls itself "Definitive". Although in fairness, I don't think I voted for Don't Stop either, so I guess I'm part of the problem. I suppose it's possible it'll squeeze in at the end of the game, though.

I didn't really pay much attention to the second poll rounds... How did the Christine McVie album get completely axed? The way the polling was set up it seemed like every album/era would receive some representation in the final cut.

Default Nicepace and Dex...and others!

I agree about Don't Stop and Got A Hold on Me being in this set. However, we're keeping the set at 18 songs since that is the usual amount of songs that can fit on a CD, which of course is the main idea - all of Christine's best/definitive songs on 1 CD.

The new/unreleased song isn't a bad idea, but I think songs like Get Like You Used to Me, I'd Rather Go Blind, and Love Shines qualify as perhaps rare and new. Very diverse set of songs, though I wanted Temporary One to bridge the gap between '92/2004 and to have a live song on this compilation.

It's looking like Friend and Calumny most likely will move forward bringing the number to 17. At that official point, we do a poll with Don't Stop, Got a Hold on Me, Isn't it Midnight to fill that final slot. I might move Don't Stop and Got A Hold on Me anyway making it 19 songs. Then doing a "reverse" poll in which we vote to remove another song to make room for Don't Stop/Got a Hold on Me.

I do find it odd that potentially two songs from In the Meantime could be on this set, while nothing from the '84 album is. The only song from the '84 album to get to Round 2 was Got a Hold on Me, though The Challenge, One in a Million, and The Smile I Live For was in an underachievers poll. Nonetheless, nothing from that poll reached 50%.

We'll continue to discuss it out tomorrow as the In the Meantime poll doesn't close until tomorrow night.
