The Bare Trees cover is in my top 3 favorite Fleetwood Mac album covers. (behind Time & Kiln House)

My favourite is "Then Play On". That rider going from autumn in the laft part of the picture, to spring and summer in the right part.

It is so symbolic, like a change in some way. And the band a big change a within a year with Peter leaving.

Arrow Covers...

Fave pre-Rumours covers:

Kiln House

I could stare at this for hours!! You can always find some new thing you didn't notice before. Christine did a GREAT job on this album cover.

Bare Trees

Melancholy cover for a melancholy album. Perfect. Bravo John!!

Then Play On

It's very eye catching with the drawing and colors used.

Although Bare Trees has a beautiful picture cover, my favorite of them all has to be Kiln House...

Kiln House is my favorite album cover, too. I also like the Mystery To Me cover, although I don't really know what it means.

So, it's a mystery to you, eh?

I don't see how one person let alone many ahve mentioned Then Play On as a favorite. That cover is probably the worst in fleetwood Mac history. It's outright disturbing. It's GREAT album just a HORRIBLE cover.

Cool They never

Quite got it right. Mick loved to be in drag....that was a constant (not that
there"s anything wrong with that!). Kiln House was one of my fave LPs but
Christine's art work was just ok but original...I'll leave it at that. There are so
many interpretations of FWM ....I have had a haiku........their record companies sucked at promotion and art direction.. Music is a constant!
Talent prevails. Tom

I thought the artwork on kiln house was just like her music.

Simply original and extraordianary!

macfan 57, I also love the MTM cover and remember reading Bob's response to a question about it from the 1999 Q&A session, section 5. I've gone back to find it.

The cover of MTM was done by an artist who I think was a friend of Mick's sisters husband. I think we all sort of threw ideas at the artist, and that's what he came up with and we liked it. The meaning I think was sort of supposed to be, "no matter how much knowledge you get, everything is still a mystery, and you're still a monkey!";-)---Bob Welch

Thanks, greenfire. I'd forgotten that Bob had covered that in his Q & A. Now, it at least makes some sense to me. I'd also forgotten to mention in my earlier post that I also like the Penguin album cover, too. No one has mentioned that one.

Hawkeye and P90pup, are you thinking of Then Play On or English Rose? English Rose is the one where Mick is dressed as a lady and what you might be thinking of? I think English Rose is a compilation cd and wasn't a new collection of songs. It was originally only released in the U.S.A. in 1969. I could be wrong on that? Then Play On also 1969, is as dansven described it. I like cover and the concept which didn't occur to me until dansven mentioned it. I also like:

"dog & dust bin", It's simple but to me really conveys the Blues.

Kiln House Chris's entry and her beautiful drawing, interesting colors.

Future Games, The children, our future. Chris's intentions with "Show Me A Smile" remind me of the artwork.

Bare Trees, John's Beautiful photo hits the mark!

Penguin, John's symbol surrounded by nice artwork.

Mystery to Me, very colorful, I think of the image when I hear "Forever", sort of a Caribbean rhythym.

edit 06/02/04, I'm correcting myself here. English Rose is sort of a compilation but I've noticed that Kirwan's "Some Sunny Day", "Without You" & "Something Inside of Me" were not released previously. This is new material here! It also put some of the singles into album format, "Jizsaw Puzzle Blues", "Albatross" & "Black Magic Woman". Sound Ok?
