Default Is this Fleetwood Mac?

There is a bit of a divide, many ledgies consider Buckingham/McVie Fleetwood Mac ...and a rose by any other name smells just as sweet...others buy the story that this was always going to be a duet album regardless of Stevie's movements.

It didn't sound like Fleetwood Mac to me until I heard Red Sun. Feel About You I love but it sounds like Christine solo featuring Lindsey.

So I'll try to add a poll.

Mick Fleetwood and John McVie have always made it FLEETWOOD MAC.

Christine, Lindsey, John, and Mick play on the album, so it's a Fleetwood Mac album, just without Stevie.

It was always a Fleetwood Mac album, no matter which member of the band was absent, so yes, it's a FM album.

Do we know for sure if Mick and John play on EVERY song? Have the liner notes been transcribed yet?

If they DO play on every song, then YES, I would surely call this a Fleetwood Mac record.

However, if they only play on a handful of songs (and Lindsey or other people do drums/bass on the other songs) then I would call this Buckingham McVie with Mick Fleetwood and John McVie as guest artists.

Guess we'll know for sure on Friday.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

i was wondering about that one. it's clearly re-recorded though and not the original 2011 version.

I voted yes, but I have a reservation. Because Stevie passed and the rest of the band dared not name the project what it really was, some of the pressure to make this a full-fledged Mac album was off. As a result, many of the songs, which are catchy, bright, and well-arranged, are still not given as full a treatment as the songs on SYW. Like many of LB's solo albums from 2005 onward, as well as Christine's ITM, many of these "duets" have a boutique feel about them. Carnival Begin, On With the Show, Red Sun, and Love is Here to Stay sound as if they could fit right into context on SYW. But Feel About You, In My Dreams, Sleeping Around the Corner, and Too Far Gone, though well performed, don't really FEEL like full-fledged Mac productions to me.

One of the album reviews mentioned that Mick and John play on 8 of the 10 tracks.

Are there any songs without drums and bass? I doubt they got someone else to come in and do it. If anything Lindsey may have played the parts himself.

Default Is this Fleetwood Mac?

This begs the question-was 'Tango in the Night' Fleetwood Mac?
It certainly didn't sound like a 'band 'effort.

If anything, Tango in the Night was Buckingham/McVie Volume I.
