we just had a school shooting here in omaha

it's still sketchy, seeing it happened over the lunch hour~ 1 injured is what we are hearing, being life flighted~ sounds life threatening~ shooter is on the loose~

school just got back in session monday~ the news is there, but most of the news is coming from students hiding & texting their parents~

it's so scary, my heart goes out to them all~ my aunt attended this high school, it's in a real quiet upper class part of town~

From what I understand this boy killed the Vice Principal because she had suspended him from school for a week. Then he went out in the parking lot and killed himself. How tragic.

Personally, I would have looked at the suspension as a week's vacation.

he tore up the school's football field on new years day~ it was melting here, so i guess the damage was extensive~ the vice principal suspended him for 19 days~ his car had been locked up by his father who is an omaha police detective~ he broke into the garage, stole his care, stole his dad's service revolver & returned to the school~ he also shot the principal & fired on a custodian~ after he shot himself, his car revved for 5 minutes in an office building parking lot~

he had just transferred to the school in october~ he left a nasty facebook message before he did all of this~

the community have really rallied around the killed, wounded & the students~ it's been a strange couple of days, that's for sure~

Tragic all around. I feel sorry for all of the families involved.
