Also blaming Lindsey Buckingham for the lack of album sales - when he actually was the sole creative force that made the albums happen in the first place - is pouring venom on a former band member, so the pot is calling the cattle black.
Lindsey dominated later FM albums, largely because he was unable to have a successful solo career, and it was an outlet for his obsessive compulsive creative tendencies. This gave the recordings a certain sound but it succeeded on the girl's tunes not his. His songs on Tango and The Dance and SYW were like his solo work... unattractive and self absorbed. Come, Murrow, Family Man, anyone? WTF. Now he wanted to record with FM again, likely because he knew his solo efforts would flop. And the band voted against another album with him, dreading months of his bullying lunacy with them dancing to his overwrought tune.

As for pouring venom on a band member holy ****. Look at the grotesque accusations and characterizations of Stevie and Mick elsewhere on this board. Give your head a shake, child.

Tango in the Night was their biggest hit since Rumours...And his songs on it (minus Family Man) are fantastic.
And clearly Mick, John and Christine didn't "dread months of his bullying lunacy with them dancing to his overwrought tune" since they DID record an album with him LOL. And Christine loved the album and she loved making it. In an interview at the end of last year she called Lindsey "her favorite guy to work with".

that's what I don't get-- gotta fire Lindsey coz we're all in a BIG RUSH TO GET ON THE ROAD and he's holding us back!!!!!!!

And now, what are they doing? They aren't even properly in rehearsals till later in summer and touring in the fall. So what exactly is it they couldn't wait for???

No, no, no! Don't you get it??? "The BAND" can only refer to none other than their most Dylanesque member.

After 14 yrs visiting a site I once enjoyed which covered a band I once loved following, I now ‘Say Goodbye’ to both
No thanks to the faction within FM which destroyed its legacy & heavy-handed mod michelej1

I think that helps make it so obvious that this wasn't REALLY about scheduling conflicts. Sure scheduling conflicts played a part in it and got the ball rolling but what it was really about was a certain someone deciding she wants to just be happy happy happy and thus coming to an appalling decision.

Which is why the load of BS the band is trying to send out into the ethos just doesn't jive. Is it really going to take Neil and Mike that long to learn Lindsey's stuff, and all of them that long to "learn" the deep cuts they are supposedly unearthing.

She's a freaking idiot. I only hope that someday she realizes that she RUINED the FM legacy.

But she won't. Miserable old hag.

That's it, it probably factually started our with scheduling issues, like you said the ball started rolling.....despite Lindsey wanting to tour with FM this year....then no doubt it was simply a huge ugly fight....and she said 'I can't do it. It's him or me'

Drums. Bass. Guitar. Keyboard. They aren’t anything without the tambourine.

Your post makes me LAUGH. The BAND did not vote against a new album, the tambourine B/WITCH did. Do you want me to name a few of Stevie's songs and base a whole latter career on it? We can start with , When I see you again if you'd like. Her vocals during much of the second half of the 80's and 90's were the epitome of unattractive and self absorbed. I will add cartoonish to that as well. And the ONLY reason this board as turned into this is one persons fault.
