For anyone who wants to know...VBOFM has climbed steadily since the first week's #42 to #37 then #27 and now..............
#18!! Wohoo, top 20 and climbing!

That's very odd. This is practically the first time I can remember this group of people doing better in Europe than in the U.S. in terms of chart performance. I wonder how sales from the two continents compare.

your memory must be a little bit short then
the most obvious example would be tango in the night, it was a bigger seller all over europe (both relatively and in actual numbers) than in the US, it sold more than 2mil. in the UK alone.
it was a #1 here too and it wasn't one in the states, there are more examples but my memory's not at it's best shape either.

Well Tommer, if I'm not mistaken, Behind the Mask also did a lot better over in Europe. I have no sense of Time, but I don't see how it could have done WORSE over there than here. I don't own Time, but even with the Fleetwood Mac name, I would have assumed it would have done a lot better than it did here.

I did not know that. I just assumed "Tango" sold about 4 or 5 million in the United States. I'm bad with not remembering the sales numbers. I think I do remember that "Tango" didn't hit #1 on the U.S. Billboard chart, but I think it hit Top 10.

I remember thinking for a long time that England didn't care much for the American version of Fleetwood Mac, whereas the U.S. fans were far more impressed.

Tango just went 3x platinum in the U.S. in 2000, and it peaked at #7 on the charts. If I'm not mistaken, though, Tango is their second highest selling album because of its success in other places.

I could swear that I read that Behind The Mask went to #1 in England-and what was it here?...I wanna say either 18 or 22. And also I could swear I recently read that Greatest Hits has actually outsold Tango now ?!?

Well, I'm really not sure. I would imagine it HAS, but I was speaking strictly on like, new material albums or live albums (Live and The Dance). GH is 8x platinum here in the US, but Tango I think is 8x platinum or 7x platinum in Europe...so I'm not sure.

Of course I remember you ricohv! I'm glad someone appreciates it, I just get so excited when Fleetwood Mac gets some recognition here in Sweden.
