My Blondie CD collection is now complete (sans Greatest Hits and remixes of course. laaaame.)! On to Debbie

Dragonfly RAWKS. And an eight minute version of War Child? Orgasm-inducing, my friend.

Get Debbie's solo albums at Amazon used, you'll probably be able to get all of them (Rockbird, Def Dumb and Blonde, and Debravation) for less than $10, with the exception of KooKoo. I just got "Most of All the Best Of Deborah Harry" and if you can find it, snatch it up. The duet with her and Iggy Pop is fab, the remix of Sweet and Low is perfect, as are the remixes of I Want That Man and Communion.

I think my favorites on Hunter are War Child, Orchid Club, and The Beast. I like it. It's not Autoamerican (my favorite ), but I like it.

It makes me sad that I have to get Debbie's albums used. She should re-release them or something.

I like all the albums, but I love The Hunter because it's so f*cking weird.

I think Deb's solo albums are super. Very kitsch and campy and fun. Communion from "Debravation" is a hoot, too:

I've touched some objects of faith
More precious than pieces of eight
Seen sacred places and ritual ways
But for communion let's go to my place
I learned to pray on my knees
Been taken in hand if you please
Had my own revelations ideas about fate
But for communion let's go to my place
So as the body so as the blood
Sacred as the soul is to love
Don't be mistaken if you don't understand
Divinely simple
Part of the plan
Take
Eat
This is my body
I give it to you
Take
Drink
This is my blood
Do it in remembrance of me so you won't forget me

It's even funnier when you take into account that she's a devout atheist.

I'm jamming to "The Audience" by Matthew Herbert. And Riss is jamming as well, whether she'll admit it or not. :P

(I'm really loving this Best of Blondie CD I bought yesterday--I might just be making some room for Blondie albums beside my FM collection.)
So much Blondie-love going around, wonderful!

The Ataris - The Boys Of Summer (the original is still better )

My faaaaaaaaaaaavorite version of all-time. The ending is incredibly sexy, when she just belts out with all of the "Atomic ahhhs" and when she sings "Oh your hair is beautiful" and goes for those high notes. Mmmmmmmmm. Great album. Forgive and Forget is sublime.

I usually put it in just to hear Under the Gun. Ever notice how muddled the sound is on the album version? Drives me batty. It took me forever to learn the lyrics because you can barely hear her.

I know, the sound stinks. But it's Blondie, so it's all OK

It's not wonderful, it's atomic.

Debbie Harry and Iggy Pop- Well Did You Evah ! (yet again, because I'm obsessed with this song)

They make up for it when Dig Up the Conjo comes on. What a f*cking weird and brilliant song, they need to do it live somehow. The sound on that one is fantastic, even on the crappy cassette I have in my car.

I enjoy "Double Take." So pretty. Same with "Forgive & Forget," which was Greg's Jam of the Week™ a few weeks ago.
