The Original Fleetwood Mac (the album)
I've been listening to The Original Fleetwood Mac album, specifically the edition with the following bonus tracks in bold:
1. Drifting 2. Leaving Town Blues 3. Watch Out 4. A Fool No More 5. Mean Old Fireman 6. Can't Afford to Do It 7. Fleetwood Mac 8. Worried Dream 9. Love That Woman 10. Allow Me One More Show 11. First Train Home 12. Ramblin' Pony No. 2 13. Mighty Cold 14. Jumping at Shadows (Live Recording) 15. Somebody's Gonna Get (Their Head Kicked In Tonite) 16. Man of Action I know that FM is the track they did while Bluesbreakers (I've also just gotten the extended A Hard Road with the single featuring Mick recorded at the same time), and Sombody's Gonna... is the B-side of Man Of The World. Are any of the other tracks in anyway notable - that is, are there any particular examples of anyone's style or playing, anything significant or unusual? Are any alternative versions? (I presume from the name this is the case with RP No 2?) Last edited by Neb-Maat-Re; 08-27-2006 at 10:50 PM.. |

"Watch Out" is a faster version (with the verses in reverse order) than the slow, lilting shuffle that kicks off the Blues Jam At Chess album.

"Drifting" is the same tune as "Fast Talking Woman Blues" off the Vaudeville Years set, except the latter is an instrumental.
"Rambling Pony" was a B-side, I think of "I Believe My Time Ain't Long", and it also appeared on the Pious Bird of Good Omen album. RP#2 only appeared on TOFM though, as far as I know. There's another version of "Leaving Town Blues" as well, off the top of my head I think it's on the Show-biz Blues set. |

And speaking of "Rambling Pony" and "I Believe My Time Ain't Long" - those would be two tracks that Bob Brunning played on (to respond to one of the other threads that Neb-Maat-Re started). I think he may have played on one or two other early tracks, but I'm not sure and I'd have to go look that up. Of course Brunning appears on the early live set recorded at the Marquee, just a few days after the band's debut performance (as well as on the bootleg of the debut show). The other version of "Leaving Town Blues" was the BBC session with Nick Pickett on violin - again, I'd have to look it up, but that may have been the last session that Peter Green recorded before leaving the band. |

Is this the only album the instrumental Fleetwood Mac is on?

That's good marketing.
You need to buy TOFM to get the FM track. You need to buy The Best Of Peter Green's FM to get Dragonfly. You need to buy.... Actually, in reality it's probably short-sighted BAD marketing. There might be a lot of people who would say, "Gee, I want that song, but I'm not gonna buy a whole album just to get it." |
