Default My Review

I just listened to Gift of Screws from start to end and it does rock.Besides the tracks we know and love (Wait for You, The Right Place To Fade and the title tracks) This a fantastic disc. Love Runs Deeper is probably my fav. It rocks with a "Fleetwood Mac" sound. You would thin Stevie and Christine are singing along.Undergound and Treason also have that same feel. Great Day reminds me of Play in the Rain. The guitar work is very familar.I'm sure everyone will know why Lindsey said this album the rocker. If you compare this to UTS it totaly does. Love Runs Deeper is my pick

Well, several people have singled Love Runs Deeper out and I find myself looking forward to it.

Well thank you for sharing your review. I'm very appreciative to those who have heard the album and are sharing tidbits/opinions. I enjoy that kind of stuff as it makes me even more excited about this release.

How do we know? Of all the Village Recorder stuff Lindsey has only used TTFTS and DOR. The rest were not much more than sketches of songs and we have no reason to think that he hasn't forgot about them completely. Deep Dense was pretty complete but who's to say he is considering using any of those songs? After all, he's written plenty of new songs since then and the only old songs he seems to be using are the ones he already had properly recorded. I predict that none of the other Village Recorder songs will see the light of day

What other ones are missing?

Yes, but sharing the tracks with us would be even better. We're all gonna buy the CD anyway.

I have to say I was kinda thinking that myself. I love to hear it earlier than the release date. Just because were real Lindsey fans.
But its something to look forward to.
I wish though there was a bit more press & advertising, reviews etc etc. Just to build it up a bit more.

Thank you for the review Bly! And just ignore mylittledemon. He is KNOWN for his impatience! Not everyone that visits or lurks on this site will buy the CD anyway--although I believe he will.

And it's not worth people sharing it. Last September when songs from Animal Collective's album leaked the reviewer who leaked them was almost fired because the review copies are watermarked and can be traced back to the specific reviewer. If I had a review copy I'd love to share it but wouldn't because it's not worth losing a job over or getting in trouble for.

And yet, as soon as it does leak I'll be all over it

I'd hate to see anyone rob Lindsey of his "moment" to release it any way HE wants, whether it be through his website, his myspace, his radio interviews, maybe even television. He earned the right! I hope no one will steal this from him, and certainly not here.
