It's with a heavy heart I have to say they need to get on and start planning the exit sooner rather than later. There is nothing worse for the financial markets than uncertainty so it does nothing for the financial state of the country to delay things.

The Conservative party leadership battle is going to be very interesting. The way it's panning out I can see a straight IN/OUT election between BoJo and Theresa May. Like many I've always had a soft spot for Boris. On this occasion I don't know what to think. Part of me hopes the wider Tory party see him as a traitor and back TM. At the same time, I think it would be awkward for a pro-EU leader to be negotiating an exit. Perhaps a pro-exit leader would feel more committed to doing an effective job- I just don't know.

What I do know is there's no point clinging to the notion of a re-vote. It just isn't going to happen...its over, we are out, we now need to move on.

With the Labour leadership seemingly crumbling, British politics is in a right mess. Perhaps this should be an opportunity for a new political landscape...tear up traditional party divides and formulate new allegiances. Strange times ahead indeed.

I no longer recognise my country as the one I have loved all my life.

Hurray for who? The huge number of idiots that now seemingly regret their actions?
Too many people saying 'I didn't really know the consequences. It was a protest vote' etc etc.
America, be warned of the consequences of protest votes!

The only decisions to be proud of, even even if they turn out to be wrong, are the are well-informed ones.

This is an example of why so many voters are regretting their decision to Leave, realising they believed in a pack of lies. One of our ugliest (in my opinion) but very popular right wing papers encouraged voters to leave and then immediately after the referendum told them how bad things were now going to be for them financially.

Why were so many people intent on wrecking our country, by encouraging most the population who has no idea about economics, to leave the EU. I just don't understand

I'm just praying the government can sort out this mess.

Becoming the next leader of the Conservatives will be a poisoned chalice as he/she as Prime Minister will have to activate Article 50, and will then be responsible for our departure from The EU.....and the possible breakup of the Union with Scotland.

Cameron who called the referendum (and did not have to) will be well gone before the real turmoil ensues.

..............In fact he will be on his way to The House of Lords........

If the EU shatters it will be the end of the world as we know it. It could even start a new age of wars, as the EU is the principle responsible of the european status quo of the last 60 years.

very interesting article...
Just one flaw , it makes Cameron seem intelligent .
Whereas I see him as one half of double act...him and Bozo make a good Laurel and Hardy...

"Here's another nice mess you got me into"..
