Well not everyone...I don't have either FB or MS....and don't care too either....I'm not into all of that stuff....too much time to devote.....just not my thing but to each his or her own but its ok for those whom love it all.......no offence.....I've been here since '05....but I'm a 20+ yr fan....I didn't even know about these forums til someone told me about it to join this & 7 Blunders too....(I love that its funny/LOL)......are there others too. I've heard of the Buck/Nicks site one too but not ever been to that one or heck Stevie offical web site one....but I don't think so....I can only handle so many forums....I've learned alot from other fans....its good to agree to disagree about stuff.....but not cause issues....than it becomes not so fun....fun and dicussion is what its all about .....back in the 'day' of the old fanzines all of us would've loved this type of medium....all's we had back than was good old 'snail' mail pen pals....which was still cool back in those days....but I'm only in contact with about 1 person that I used to penpal back in those days....most others have left....and I'd say they were pretty big Stevie /Mac fans too.....but things change as does life.....I've changed too....what was once important....maybe isn't quite so much.....but part of me will always love Stevie & Mac on some level....even if I don't agree with everything.....my fandom may have changed but I am still a 'fan' of them......as I'm sure some of yours has too.....Its great that there are younger fans too....I hope it stays that way.....take care......just some thoughts.....

It's funny that you mention snail mail pen pals because I am pretty sure we wrote to each other a few times back in the early 90s. I can understand how you feel about the social networking sites. I do have to say that I love this day and age that we are in now. Sometimes it can be scary and crazy but I have met so many great people this last year that it makes up for it. I love the fact that I am only a text, email or Facebook status away from my good friends.

I am a fairly new member, thank god I found the ledge, I think by accident while checking out the links on nicks fix, I was curious to see what Stevie & F/M were up to as one of my fav bands, I had only just bought my first computer last christmas so I googled Stevie nicks, so I read everything about Stevie on that site, wanting more info, but this is the most fun & informative site on the planet, then I discovered you tube, live concerts, interviews, demos, now I am addicted to the ledge & watching F/M & Stevie on you tube

I do recall a thread a year or two ago in which one or more of the people you mentioned started a thread devoted to why they thought the Ledge was no longer relevant and, indirectly, the notion that everyone left posting on the Ledge was boring and that all the "cool" people had gone away. If it no longer floats your boat, fine. So just quietly disappear if you want to. There certainly was no need to insult everyone else left posting here. Yes, the Ledge has changed over the years, but so has the world. It's not better or worse... it's just different.

Don't let the screen door hit you where the good Lord split you on your way out.

I didn't see the thread you referenced.

Where did I say it no longer floats my boat? I just mentioned some former posters whom I miss. I only have an email for one of the people I mentioned and no way of contacting the others. So for me I just miss conversing with them, knowing that I probably will never do so again.

And come on -- why should anyone be insulted? Over a post on a message board?

That's right, Christopher. He just reminds me of Ethan because he was young and very, very enthusiastic about Stevie and posted a lot. Although Chris was probably more defensive of her on the whole.

Apart from Lux and Tower, who were banned, I know a lot of the people you've mentioned just grew away from Fleetwood Mac, that was certainly the case with Jyqm, Sparky, Kate and Greg, and Paula is just busy with other things at the moment But I miss them posting too. I wonder what happened to Amber and Dissention, they were by far the biggest posters around here for quite a long time.

I didn't say it no longer floated your boat- I meant that hypothetically, in general, not in regards to you specifically. Mmmkay?

I'm not insulted because, quite honestly, I think half of those people were self-righteous douchebags- so their opinion means nothing to me. But just the notion that somehow they feel like they are better than the rest of us is what I find rather distasteful.

I certainly understand growing away from Fleetwood Mac. We all do that. Nobody dies of old age still being a rabid Fleetwood Mac fan.

But Fleetwood Mac is only the springboard here. It's conversation we share! We claver & converse! We interact! We argue! We poll! We opine! We polemicize! We aver! We avow! We abut! We animadvert on! And it's better than texting or telephoning because we construct artfully formulated sentences & paragraphs with which to create sense (& sometimes nonsense).

I don't understand how or why people grow away from that. It's what a good life consists of!

I figured that was the case for a lot of them. I lose interest in Fleetwood Mac too sometimes, but I still visit here. Old habits die hard, I guess.

That's true David, but there was weird stuff going on for a while, with people being randomly banned (why was Mari banned for instance?), Lux's hate campaign against Amber and stuff like that. It's calmed down these days for sure. But there's always been drama surrounding The Ledge, it just comes and goes I guess.
Plus a lot of people continue the relationships they made here, just not on this board, since they don't care to talk about Fleetwood Mac anymore it makes sense.
