Default Live Gig

Hi everybody
I don't know how long this show will remain on the BBC site.
I've just found it at www.bbc.co.uk/6music/shows/dream_ticket.
Go to left of screen and select live at midnight.Click on the show which is listed on right of new screen.
I think it was recorded in 1970.
Does anybody know how to record it onto PC.

Hi,

This show was recorded and aired live on BBC Radio on April 9, 1970 at the Paris Theatre in London. It is available on a number of Releases (most notably on the "Merely A Portmanteau" Album). It also appears on a variety of other Fleetwood Mac Bootlegs, and parts of the show are included in the legit Release "FM Live at The BBC" Double CD (though not with the BBC Announcer & stage chatter). Sorry, I can't tell you how to download the programme onto your computer. I am a Computer Illiterate. The show is interesting & entertaining for a lot of reasons, but most notably (at least to me) is that it was the first time "World In Harmony" was played to a live audience. At the time, yet untitled. Hence the surrogate Title: "Phyllis".

I guess a lot of that is common knowledge, but perhaps it will help Jagman to find a copy, if it can't be downloaded.

Cheers, Don

Actually, it was one of the last times it was played live -
They had laid down the basic tracks for the song in Hollywood in January of 1970 -
It became a regular number in their set shortly thereafter, with the first live recording available being from the Eagle Auditorium, Seattle, WA January 17, 1970 -
they also played it at both of the Warehouse shows in New Orleans at the end of the month, at the Boston Tea Party and throughout their European and Scandanavian tours in March -
It is possible that Kirwan had just not settled on a title yet -
I think it was more likely an example of how bad Kirwan's stage fright really was that he "froze" when asked a direct question.

Of course you are right. I stand corrected.

Thanks, Don

I just recorded it into my computer using Sound Forge. A lot of programs have sound recording capabilities. I just hit record in Sound Forge and then played the program. And voila, it is now on my hard drive.
