Default Another Silver Springs Question...

Hello Everyone:

I'm new, although I've been reading for quite awhile now, I just never had the courage to register and post because although I consider myself a huge FM and Stevie fan I do not know as much as you guys nor do I have as much stuff collected. Anyway, here's a question for you all that has bugged me for a long time...

In the "I cast a spell on you" Silver Springs version (mine sounds like a demo with just a piano) what does Stevie say right before she starts singing??? My version just isn't clear enough to understand it and I don't have any high tech stereo equipment to try and decipher. I wonder everytime I listen to the song.

To Wldhrt315: Yes, I have heard the Atlantic City Silver Springs when Stevie starts to cry and Lindsey finishes for her. However, I do not have it on my hard drive otherwise I would email it. I have it on a cd. If you can't get it from anyone, I'll try to figure out if I can transfer it to my hard drive. You really can't tell that she is crying. Her voice gets a little quivery and just kinda stops singing, but that is it. I've never seen the performance, only heard it, but I'm sure this is what you are talking about.

I think I can make out the first half of what she says.

Sounds to me like "Lindsey, are we almost done with it, or are we..."

There's something she says after that that I can't understand. Also, this could be completely wrong, someone correct me if it is. But, that's what I hear when I listen to it.

Hope this helps.

Brad

Yes, it could be "Lindsey" but I just can't make out the rest. I've always wondered, so I thought I'd ask if maybe someone else has a clearer version.

Hi Sleeping Angel~

Thanks for letting me know that you have a copy of that show. The whole quest to hear this song came from a conversation I was having once about how Stevie was crying while singing Rhiannon during the WWD tour VHS. I know that it was her last show on her 1st solo tour and it was quite an emotional time for her. That had got me thinking about any other show where emotion was displayed and I read about that Atlantic City show where Lindsey finished the song.
How much did he sing anyway?

Oh and I just noticed you are from Chicago - that's cool I cureently live in Aurora real close to Naperville.

Hi Wldhrt315:

Actually, I live in Wheaton...so even closer to you. I just put Chicago because everyone knows where that is!

Lindsey only sings "You could be myyyyyyy silver spring, my blue green colors flashing..." But he sings it very emotionally, so it's pretty cool.

I heard that just about every WWD show was emotional for her, but I do not have any specific examples.

There's also the Largo 1983 Wild Heart (VHS) show during "Beauty and the Beast" where Stevie is crying...not profusely but defianately teary eyed...

How about the 1982 Mirage video during "SOTM" near the end of the song where Stevie is crouching down to the audience with clearly visible tears but smiling.....

I have the Westwood One radio broadcast of a 1989 concert in Houston where she is crying at the end of "HAEWAFY"....

By the way Wldhrt315 and Sleeping Angel...i use to live in Oak Park! From 1981-1987. I actually saw Stevie in 1986 at Alpine Valley and (now nonexistant) Poplar Creek. I'm in NY now.

sorry Sleeping Angel....i can't make the words out at all. Maybe we should send it to the audio experts that decipher the validity of the Bin Laden tapes!
