Behind The Mask

Last night I listened to this whole album and I hadn't played the whole thing in years. I realized after listening to it why it was not a successful record. Because it is so depressing! There are very good songs on here but too many of them are downers in the way they make ya feel. In contrast RUMOURS was such an uplifting sounding record even though the subject matters were depressing. Behind The Mask is not an uplifting sounding record. It doesn't make you want to play it over and over and over again.

I don't like uplifting songs. I like 'em dark. But I don't want to play BTM over and over again either. Well, Save Me, BTM and When It Comes to Love do get repeated, but to me, the album as a whole doesn't fit together in a way that would make me want to hear it all the way through often.
