Got to hand it to her — she is packing ’em in. Her legacy is staying power and personal voice. Look at what she’s done all these decades, imposing her style on music, dance, and relationship politics. She’s the heir to the Romanticists. I think I’m growing more impressed with her every year (despite the fact that she never strays from her formulaic path).

Is Billy Joel single? Stevie and Billy ought to tour together and then go home together. Think of all the stories about Liberty DeVitto they could tell us.

There’s something heroic about a singer who can barely sing anymore, a songwriter who never writes anymore, and a dancer who waddles around and is adored for it. She ain’t giving up. I don’t know why — to keep from falling into despair? to avoid oblivion? If that isn’t Romantic, nothing is.

Wow! such clarity, we don't even have to go pay to see her anymore. The quality is great.

A verse is also cut from Soldier's Angel too (I am a soldier's girlfriend...). I think the punch-up is because the original is pretty hard to sit through. However the original to me is more serious. Too much drumming and staccato from Waddy in this new version.

I think SA will be the next song to go in her setlist (Sara and Sing for the Things were gone at the last show)

Was she opening for Billy Joel?

She drops "I Sing for the Things" in sets that open for Billy Joel.

It was a Billy Joel show. I never thought of her being the opening act for Billy Joel but it looks like she plays 90 minutes and Billy plays 2 hours.
She did I Sing For The Things at the Philadelphia Billy Joel show but not in KC. But maybe she dropped it so she could talk more.

Last year she dropped Moonlight and Rock & Roll so I expect there would be 2 drops on this tour (which continues in to 2024 with the Dallas date) too.

Eagles performed two songs as a tribute to Jimmy Buffett yesterday and Timothy B Schmit was interviewed about it. His response to being asked if the tribute would stay for the whole tour. And his response was interesting in how it differs from Stevie’s tribute to Tom Petty in FM and solo shows

It’s also interesting that Stevie didn’t do a tribute to Tom when she did her fall 2017 24 Karat Gold Tour.

Thank you. I enjoyed reading that.

For the second part, Stevie was too busy talking about herself to notice that she could do something more appropriate to honor her friend...

Free FallinÂ’ could have been performed on her November - December 2017 Tour.

I remember Waddy doing an odd tribute to Angus Young during that tour before Stevie started singing Edge. I think he played Hells Bells.

My belief is that playing Stop DragginÂ’ is a tribute to Tom, and I donÂ’t even want to hear that song live because Stevie doesnÂ’t hit the chorus anymore. She sang it beautifully on TomÂ’s 30th Anniversary Tour and her pre-Crystal Visions Tour shows. But I understand she has to play her biggest hit. But Free FallinÂ’ can go please! DonÂ’t give me that song for your $300 ticket price.

They didn't run it into the ground because Prince was his best friend in the whole world.

I wonder if she read the liner notes for The Wild Heart reissue where Iovine suggests he was the one who made everything happen with Prince for Stand Back.

Do you think she and Prince did it? They're practically the same size!

Will those songs be a regular part of the set now for the tour?

Our tribute now is done. We feel like that was adequate and honorable and respectful. And we’re going to just go be Eagles again. It was a one-off thing. We don’t feel we need to beat that into the ground. But it was a heartfelt tribute.
