Circa 198?
Lindsey just post a picture in his twitter (can't say X yet). It says Circa 1980, but watching John's look it doesn't look like his Tusk or Mirage appearance. I find it more a mid 80s look, all of them.
Can't imagine where Stevie was. ps: In that twit somebody commented it's a photoshop pic. https://twitter.com/LBuckingham/stat...59157724766546

Looks like very early Tango sessions to me

Yes it sure is. I believe 1986. I remember an article using a similar picture. The caption I believe read “Where’s Stevie” |

This is such a good picture. I wish Stevie was in it, just so the whole band would be in this picture, because it’s such a good picture. But yeah I’m pretty sure this is during the Tango days.

The mantra of that whole time period - where’s Stevie!? Too busy running around the world on a bender

If it was taken during spring ´87 Tango sessions, she may have been at the Betty Ford, as Sara Anderson.

It's Tango, and he posted it to make a point to $tevie. You weren't there.

I think Photoshop. The lighting looks different on all of them, and I can't recall ever seeing John with an upright bass.

Well, that album SUCKS. I like Time far better that Bowel, The Movement. BTM, and SYW, SUCK.
That's my only excuse. They suck, and I haven't listened to them for at least a decade(or two). And I never noticed any bass parts sounding like upright. Anyone could post a picture of themselves playing the skin flute... doesn't mean it's credible.

It's not Photoshop, it's been floating around for ages. People don't know whether to believe their eyes these days... Lindsey even credits the photographer, Aaron Rapoport. John is standing further back and has a separate light on him. It's obviously from the Tango sessions, so why would Stevie be there anyway?

Quote:
this pic was in Rolling Stone magazine’s random notes section, they were discussing the upcoming release of tango during the recording sessions. it was likely '86 because this photo was taken at Rumbo Recorders where they cut basic tracks for TINT and that took about a year to record up at LB's house. this was when they recorded a track for Christine (an Elvis song) for a movie soundtrack - it was Can’t Help Falling In Love for the movie A Fine Mess.

They all look good, but are Lindsey’s pants really pulled up to his belly button here? Or is it some sort of reflection causing it to look like that? 1986 looks right, as Lindsey’s hair is shorter here than it was in 1987 when Tango and the videos were released.
