Destiny Rules
I just love this band. They are the absolute best. I really wish they kept Destiny Rules in the set list. I think it make it one show. Not sure why - it is so good.

That was beautiful! I loved Stevie's bangs like that- she's so cute!!!
Destiny Rules would have been a great song and it really doesn't make too much since that they axed it from the set.

Too bad... seems that whole rehearsal was recorded, and they sounded really good.

Destiny Rules was live for a minute or two
At a sound stage in Burbank in April 2003, I was lucky enough to have the privilege of experiencing the dress rehearsal for the "Say You Will" tour. They opened with an amped-up version of "Eyes of the World." The set list included "Destiny Rules" and "Running Through the Garden," both of which I liked better live than on the CD, especially "Garden." I think both songs were dropped within the first three or four live dates, and they went back to opening with "The Chain." Oh well. Oh well. Oh well.

"Running Through the Garden" didn't make it past opening night, sad to say, as it was awesome live (I was lucky enough to hear it performed). It was fast-paced, Stevie got into it, and Lindsey's guitar solo rocked. There's Columbus bootlegs out there if you wanna hear it.
"Destiny Rules" made two more shows before it was dumped. Another shame - it was terrific. I especially liked the way she ended it, which was different from the album version. Oh well. Stevie has admitted how loath she is to perform new material live. She seems paranoid that the members of the audience will leave in droves, or that there will be a Rick Nelson "Garden Party" type booing. At least they kept "Goodbye Baby" and the title track. |
