Default Thackerville OK / Winstar Casino - Buckvie Thread

Hello everybody! I didn't see a thread for tonight's Buckvie show so I thought I'd start one. I saw the show in toronto and my god this audience was dead. I'm sorry but I've never seen an audience sit through little lies. Even for GYOW only half had stood.

Lindsey was on a weird trip tonight. Guitar and vocals were great but I don't know what was up with him. Not to offend, but the things he said were out there even for him. He went ON about how many years Chris was away for and how he never left FM. He went on a tangent that had him saying "I had my way with her songs" over and over to the point where Chris said "that was a bit rude" (It was after Shut Us Down if anyone has the video of her calling him out I would LOVE it.)
Chris' vocals tonight were amazing in my opinion. Like she hit notes I haven't heard her hit in a long while. She sounded AND looked so beautiful and everything she song was terrific.

Tonight was my first show on the tour and I loved every second of it. Crowd was kinda lame, but it'a a casino in Oklahoma so I kind of expected it. I did see a few folks singing along with the new stuff, and that pleasantly surprised me.

As for the "weird" interplay that crystalline mentioned-- when Lindsey said he never left FM, he was referring to the time AFTER "The Dance" (he talked about how he did band stuff and solo stuff to feed his artistic side). He was definitely not trying to claim that he NEVER left the band at all.

As for the "had my way with her songs" comment, I think they were both laughing about it. They both seemed in great spirits and it showed in their performance. Definitely hoping they add more shows to the tour, as I would love to see it again!

One final note: I'm impressed that they didn't play it totally safe with the set list. Sure, those of who have seen Lindsey solo have heard many of these versions before, but I'm really surprised we got "Wish You Were Here" and "Hold Me"-- not to mention the fact that there was no "Don't Stop" or "World Turning." Crowd really seemed to dig "Too Far Gone" tonight, and I'm very happy they opted for that instead of "W.T." I thought all of the new material sounded FANTASTIC tonight.

Hey! I totally know he was talking about after The Dance it was just a bit of an odd comment in my personal opinion. Nothing crazy just a little unnecessary in my opinion and the people I was with. The banter was sweet to a point but again I thought it unnecessary just the way he worded what he did with her songs.

I agree about the setlist!! I loved it. It was crafter wonderfully to compliment the both of them. The new material is amazing on the album and live. They sounded great!

I understand your point, but the cranky old man in me
wishes I could turn back time to where audience members
didn't sing along with the artist.

Enjoy the show, but does one have to sing?

Sorry in advance if we ever sit near each other at a concert, because I usually sing every song.

Thumbs up Great show!

Boyfriend and I enjoyed the show. He knows the lyrics to their new album better than me. LOL I got some great video and some meh photos before the usher told me "No cameras" (Why is it always ME they go after when every other person in the place is taking video/pix with their camera phones? Sheesh. ) and I put it away right after I'm So Afraid. No bow pics.

Christine and Lindsey both sounded really great....although I agree with everyone that the background vocals/noises were too dang loud. I would have nixed all of that to just hear THEM sing. Terrific mix of new and old and WYWH...gorgeous!!

I'll bring my plugs, no worries.

Not necessarily our guys and gals here (FM),
but I've noticed some older bands let the
audience sing when the hard parts come
around. The audience seems to be able
to hit the high notes better is some cases.

Christy's YouTube Channel

OK, finally got all my BuckVie videos from Winstar up on YouTube. The only song I got most of was Too Far Gone. The others, I only got bits and pieces because security was being a bear that night, watching. Ugh. I thought that I got ISA on video, but apparently not.

Hope ya'll enjoy these.

This was a really great show on a Sunday night at Winstar. Winstar rarely does concerts on Sunday and that may be why it was not very well attended. It surprised me but it also worked out since I got a great seat for it and for the most part the audience was pretty attentive through the music. As I am still messing around with some new gear I actually ran 3 configurations during the show. This is my usually equipment and it came out very nice. I really like the new music as well as the way they did some of the classics.

Enjoy!

How did I just see this?

No, I'm actually one of the chief stockholders in Pabst Blue Ribbon...well, one of their biggest consumers of it. PBR and a shot of whiskey gets me right where I need to be.
