The songs, minus "Monday Morning," on which Neil is replacing Lindsey as lead singer.

Wow yes, I Wasn't even thinking that. I found it funny that so many people have said/thought Stevie is the "face of FM" yet not one of her songs is the first one that played every time I listened to FM radio this week.

Stevie is the face. doesn't mean she wrote majority of their most well known hits, or even that hits are evenly split between 3 songwriters. many people think GYOW is a song Nicks wrote, for example, precisely because she is the face.

the other day, a Finn fan told me on twitter that he was listening to Tango in the Night, and before reading the credits didn't even realize LB is on that album.

same as you, before cben said it, i didn't even realize the common thread of the songs on that list, other than they are Lindsey and Chris songs.

look also at the short Musicares set FM did.

The album-oriented rock stations (before people were calling them classic rock radio) in Los Angeles or Southern CA played these Mac songs the most. Some are chart hits but some aren't. This is KMET and KLOS mid-Seventies to mid-Eighties.

Stevie
  • Rhiannon
  • Dreams
  • Gold Dust Woman
  • Sara
  • Gypsy

(Those are by far her most-played songs.

Lindsey and Chris airplay
  • Go Your Own Way
  • The Chain
  • You Make Loving Fun
  • Tusk
  • Say You Love Me
  • Hold Me
  • Second Hand News
  • Don't Stop
  • Over My Head
  • World Turning
  • Monday Morning

very balanced station re the 3 singer / songwriters. i was surprised to see all they play was before Tango, but then noticed "through mid-80s" part - and Tango is of course where Christine really went to stratosphere re hits.

the only one that surprises me on this list is World Turning. don't think i've ever heard that one on the terrestrial radio.

another one not on this list that classic radio stations in my area seem to play a lot is I Don't Wanna Know.

Even if her songs haven't come up on the radio for whatever reason, they're still undoubtably some of the most popular and synonymous with FM. Aside from GYOW and The Chain, I'd say Dreams and Rhiannon are the Fleetwood Mac songs in the eyes of the general public.
