I actually really enjoyed it. It's rare when someone can cover a Mac tune, especially one like the Chain, and not completely destroy. They didn't own it, live it and breathe it like the Mac (who can, honestly?) but they made it their own and nailed it for what it was. Gotta give them props.

The same goes for Alan Jackson.

I will miss the late great George Jones and yes nobodies will fill his shoes from todays artists.
Same here, Skip. I like a few of the newer artists, like Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, and even Sugarland. But mostly, they're crap. I cannot stand Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, and their ilk. Give me the oldies any day....Williams Sr., Cash, Dolly, etc.

Yes I agree.I love old school classic country along with classic rock.

I'm not familiar who is Kacey Musgraves but I will check her out.

I thought Little Big Town sounded very good, but they didn't really put their own stamp on the song. In a YouTube recording from their tour this year one of their singers even had a tambourine and was doing the Stevie dance during the bass+drums instrumental.... For me, The Chain is one of the songs I feel is synonymous with Fleetwood Mac. It stands for their story as a band and marked the only song all five members collaborated on. No cover can ever imbue the song with the same passion and resonance I feel when Stevie and Lindsey (and Christine) sing it backed by Mick and John. I hope this kind of exposure can bring new fans to the band, new hits on Fleetwood Mac videos on YouTube, and make people realize it's one of the band's best songs that was surprisingly never a single.

I've notice the producers keep shooting the camera at Taylor having fun in the audience.

Still to this day I blame the producers that did not give Taylor and Stevie rehearsal time on the other awards show.

LBT will go into my country artist do FM/Stevie tunes collection.

I love to see a country tribute to FM album or even a bluegrass tribute too.

I'll be picking and grinning LOL.

Excerpt from Interview:

Your performance with Keith Urban of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” was a pleasant surprise.

We had the pleasure of singing it with [Fleetwood Mac guitarist] Lindsey Buckingham probably five or six years ago on a CMT Crossroads special. And ever since then we've added it in and out of our set list because the fans that got to see that keep demanding that it come back into the set list. So we've been performing it on the tour this year and CMT saw it and wanted us to do it on the show.

I loved it though they did a great job to an amazing tribute to a legendary band I would say one of the best cover songs of Fleetwood Mac's and cool to hear other artists say they were influenced by Fleetwood Mac. I though Little Big Town and Keith Urban did an awesome job and best performance of the CMT 2013 Awards hands down.
