Mercifully, her convict husband was nowhere to be seen, perhaps he was in jail as he has been in and out more times than I can keep track of

I believe the phrase you're looking for is "artistic temperment"?

I understand that LB's repetitive speeches can get annoying to us (and I include myself in that), but it's just not unusual for someone to say mostly the same thing every night. They have something they want to say to "the people", so they say it every night because the audience is mostly people who have no heard it said before. Keep in mind we also hear him say these things on boots, etc. over and over. It's just like when people say something like "I'm sick of Red Rover live already and I haven't even been to a show yet". It would be impossible to be sick of it if we hadn't already listened to 50 boots 10,000 times before going to a show. My point is that it's less LB's problem and simply more that we are unusual in how much we hear his speeches, since we listen to and read every little thing. Perhaps Christy is correct too in that LB does not feel he is well-spoken and so has developed a dependable script. I am not well-spoken but can write decently...these two things do not always go hand in hand. Also, I think we're all aware of what mundane questions he is asked over and over and over and over...I think we all might develop a speech after 30 years of the same questions, just to get it overwith! I mean, really think about how dreadfully aggrivating it must be...one's brain must kick into some kind of Stress Protection Survival Mode at some point.

EXACTLY. All of these folks have walked the fine line between genius and insanity. But it was McVie's beer farts that sent them over the edge.

Christine McVie: Does not answer phone. Will only talk to old friends on phone. She's developed social phobia.
Social phobia? She doesn't seem that way so far. She may have been a recluse for a while but now she's back in the open.

You know it and I know it and what folly is this toasting an independent press. We are the tools and vassals of the rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes. "
